I decided to go pure Gallente this build and what frame wold be better for a pure build than a commando.
I like the passive regen built into the frame. It helps with regen builds *How Gallente should be.* The damage/reload bonus is really nice. I went into this update with proto AR, Ion pistol, and the Plasma cannon. The AR is alright, but is out shined by every other weapon. If it did a bit more damage it would be an amazing rifle. The ion pistol needs a buff. Not a tweak, a full on buff. After useing it for a day I trashed it. Plasma cannon is just as useless and buggy as it was in 1.7. Not sure why I thought they fixed it but they didn't. I hope they do as I love how it looks.
To summarize, The Gallente commando is and unpolished gem. With a bit of polishing on its stats it would be perfect. As for the weapons, They all preform like someone dropped heavy rocks on all of them before selling them to me. IMO the weapons need another looking at.
The question is not if I can or can not, but who is going to stop me?

Most gal weapons are short ranged, I find a gal sent with a HMG shoots as far as an AR gal commando and has far more tank.
These forums must be located in the Californin country side, there is whine as far as the eye can see.

Gal weapons have the shortest range out of all the racial weapons, yet have no strong advantage over any of the others. Everything about them is inferior to any the other racial weapons |

It needs a bonus to all hybrids not just blasters.
Ccp broke blasters but we still have rails.

I'm soloing HAVs on top of infantry with the Plasma Cannon, though the Plasma Rifle is better suited against the infantry when it's not a damn Sentinel (though yes, Plasma Rifle is pretty meh). The only bugs I've encountered with the Plasma Cannon are ones that I'm pretty sure are related. The first one I'd like to mention is the one where there's several seconds of delay from firing and your projectile firing. The second one, which becomes more likely when the first happens, is the delay after firing which also prevents a reload. The third actually happens only when the second happens, where the Commando and the Plasma Cannon's reload is acting as though it doesn't exist. When the third bug happens, I can see it affect my Plasma Rifle.
I tried using the Ion Pistol on the Commando, though my allies kept jacking my targets, so I eventually gave up the idea. The Shotgun, on the other hand, does phenomenal cleanup on anything that isn't super tanked. (For those heavily tanked heavies, yes, I use the Plasma Cannon to rip most of their health away before finishing up with either my secondary or R/E.)
The only things that can possibly threaten my Commando is: HAVs, sneaky scouts, other Commandos, and my stupidity for drawing close to HMGs.

Soloing lol, more like regulating them. My main fit runs an adv plasma with lvl 4 prof and a burst assault rifle, all tanks do is run once you break their shields and eat a little of their armor. All i do is keep them from riding my team. |
