This isn't a nerf this thread, just an artistic suggestion that think would be interesting.
Change the shimmer of the cloak so it is tinted more blue when the Cloaked person is moving towards you, and red when they are moving away. This is in keeping with redshift and blueshift which is noticeable when stars move towards or away from earth.
My physics is a little rusty but the approach of say a cloaked distortion would bend light in such a way that light particles become more excited (higher wave length) which makes them bluer.
Moving away from an object causes the frequency to shift to lower spectrums (redder).
Its possible an attentive observer will see the tint change and know what direction the cloaked person is moving.
This isn't necessary, but I think it would be very interesting to add in such a sci-fi game as an artistic thing.

I think that would be more useful for telling enemy scouts from friendly scouts if there isn't already a way. I heard about something killing teammates in fw because they couldn't tell the difference. but I don't mind if you want to add the Doppler effect.

Couldn't they just have red shimmer / blue shimmer? Just like everything else. That'd be helpful.
We can pickle that.

I don't think scouts move fast enough to cause a noticable effect. Just like a firetruck going at 5mph isn't going to produce a doppler effect that's noticable to human hearing.
Kind of a neat idea, though.

Interesting but could be a little intensive for our baby console, also stars are light years away so this might not hold true for objects so relatively close to the viewer compaed to a star.
For the Federation!
