I would thoroughly enjoy if someone could make or link a crash-course on Amarr history. I want to know all about my glorious golden race, but the internet is filled with a lot of useless information, or just an overload of backstory that takes up a lot of time, which I would rather be using to play Dust.
So any crash course, something more than just a paragraph, would be greatly appreciated.
Also, is there a chat channel or corporation that is just filled with Amarr role-players and lore fanatics that would also be nice to a newer player?

I welcome you to visit the PIE library we've assembled, providing thorough information on our golden history through out the ages.
Also, if you are interested in Amarrian culture, check out the PIE main announcement of ground forces but also our thread about imperial symbolism.
Regarding channels, I would suggest that you consider to join some of the following:
"Imperial OOC" - which is a laid back channel for amarrian role-players and loyalists.
"PIE Public" - our public channel that is mostly strictly IC (In Character).
"Imperial Congregation" - Strict roleplaying channel for capsuleers and soldiers loyal to the Amarr Empire.
If you got room for one more, i'd like to suggest:
"PIE Ground Control" - Laid back, OOC channel, with the purpose of coordinating Amarr FW squads and pilots doing orbital strikes in the warzone. Very populace.
