How do you envision planetary conquest and what features would you want in it?

It would be awesome if it were like an incursion. We chill in the war barge while eve pilots fight orbital defended and fleets. When we pass that stage we get deployed and meet the resistance on the ground. Real pilots carry supplies and clones from our warbarge to the battle field. There could be deployment limits that are dependant on which assets made it thru the gauntlet. It sounds fun, but I'm stoned.

None of the features matter if you can't enjoy them. PC is basically locked down by one group of many. There's really no tactical advantage for entering into PC at this point.

More battles more often instead of one every day or two. The ownership of the district should be stressful and more fluid. The way it is now is just plain stupid, to me.
He NS we are going to attack you, when is a good time for you? If we don't win then you have a day or two to do what you want and take a break. It is a joke. The battles should be spontaneous and more often.

An idea that occurred to me earlier today...
Perhaps like a ladder, where everyone from the top to the bottom gets paid in decreasing amounts.
And no ringers -- only people active in a corp for X days can participate. |

Defeats the purpose of ambushes and destroys the 'element of surprise'. Battles seem more like a little league soccer practice skrimage.

Involve travel time between Districts/Systems that give us an actual presense Eve side. I imagine this type of thing being way off down the line but it would be interesting if us even making a District attack was dependent on an Eve fleet protecting the mcc getting into orbit and getting into the atmosphere of a planet.

I envision null-sec pc as follows
to attack a planet you are going to need 1 warbarge + 1 or more MMCs and clones
invading step 1: warbarge enters orbit (planets owners are alerted to this they scramble ships to deal with it in space and also prep for ground combat) step 2: warbarge must now enter the atmosphere once there it is safe from eve attacks (this should take 15-30 min, not an eve player so is that a balanced time) step 3: once in the atmosphere MMCs must be deployed (again about 30 min wait to give defenders 1 hour to get boots on the ground)
Battles At this stage we should the replacement mode for skirmish v1 so if a attacking MMC is deployed to district that has a defending MMC battle flow as so 1st current skirmish if attackers win by destroying MMC and choose to push the attack 2nd skirmish v1 if attackers win again 3rd ambush(this ambush should have no time limit) to mop up the remaining clones
if there is no defending MMC skip to 2nd phase

Massive 1000 vs 1000 players fighting over a planet (Maybe with 100's thousands in clone reserves), trying to wear each other down for hours, even days... Maybe in the future we will have advanced A.I. capable of fighting alongside humans so that the battles gets massive and epic.
Not going to happen in the next 5 years... this is a 10 year vision for DUST. Until them, RECRUIT anyone that play PS3. (Even my GF is playing dust !)

Anyone else share this dream ? I do share this dream as well.
I always imagined when PvE is implemented a '24 hour attack warning' will go obsolete because corps can create drones to protect their districts while the real soldiers rally up to be transported to the district.

I envisioned Eve pilots fighting (or cloaking) past a gate camp to orbit over a district, deploy an MCC, and generally play the role of Warbarge. Another fleet is called in and surrounds the planet preventing the defenders from getting additional clones in. Then additional transport ships ferry in fresh supplies of clones and supplies while a Dust Merc commands the field from the MCC.
The defenders wouldn't have an MCC, but an actual command center inside a complex with turrets and ramparts. Attackers would have to break through increasingly fortified check points until they get to the command center.
In short, no timer, no instantaneous battles. Everything would have to be assembled by players (in both games).
Of course, old school Corp Battles would be brought back as a more fluid grudge match system.
The most OP weapon on the Dust Battle Field:
One good logi, one rep tool, and a heavy.

Hey Bob, we're taking this planet's districts because we've got some competiton for resources and we need to run them off so we can continue to expand our Titan building program.
What's that? Oh, you just want to go fight over some other planet because you need to feed you FPS tryhard ego? No, sorry.
Bob and his corp get kicked out of the alliance.
