I saw a logi gunned down today... He had a Gal heavy to his front,a Min assault to his left and a Gk.0 scout at his right with another heavy following right behind. He had his rep tool out and was doing his logi thing, then from above a RR took aim. In less than .3 seconds he was hit,he tried to run but was dramatically slowed, nearly dead he continually tried to flee, but the slowdown caused the damage of the shots to compound and he died less than 3 feet from the point where he started trying to run. The RR user withdrew shooting at no one else,he had claimed his prize an easy 50 WP for killing a defenseless target. This logi was me.
I thought "surely that person had a grudge against me". But i was woefully wrong,i encountered another repping logi and as we traveled together the same thing happened to he and i over and over.
We would be killed and everyone around us would be left unscathed. Whether it was invisible scouts, MLT fits, grenade spam or CR and RR shooting from the mountains.... We were always singled out. A few allies valiently tried to prevent our deaths but to no avail,we could never run,we could never hide, and as soon as the first bullet hit us we already knew we were dead. Enemies would charge past our allies just to kill us,and they would do this the whole match.
And here i'am currently on the forums seeking some kind of protection that we reppers don't have,if only in the name of survival.
I game over like a boss.

Unfortunately,Minmatar logis won't benefit much seeing as Caldari logis are the ones with a bonus to nanite capacity.

So, someone was smart enough to shoot the medic first... Good on them.
You shouldn't be invincible when you rep, your guys should be protecting you. Either they failed, or that person knew exactly what they were doing. Seems like both, lord knows I shoot at medics first.
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

What good is a medic if they can't survive long enough to do their job? (There is no right answer don't even try)

Well ask yourself. Between killing the heavy and the medic, which is easier? And besides it next to impossible to kill the heavy without first killing the medic. That's what I use my scout for...and I don't need that cloaker crap.
I sit in the mountains, and watch as two tiny dots appear in the horizon; an Amarr Heavy and a Cal Logi.
Figures me with a Tactical Sniper Rifle that I should tag the Logi. Sure enough, dropped him and the Heavy barely noticed, kept walking. Pegged the Heavy in the head and the Heavy tried to make a run for it (damn good armor I had to say) but I got him a second later.
Trust me. Here's my sniper logic:
1) Logi runs faster, more of a threat. 2) Logi easier to kill, always have less eHP than heavy 3) Logi is slowed down while sticking to a heavy's ass. 4) Logi harder to kill so when he slowed down even though he has smaller frame than Heavy still an open target. 5) Heavy is a big fat Target. Honestly, how do you miss them? If you do you're a horrible sniper.
Trust, its simple decision to make.
After all, we Russians think like this--if its effective keep doing it.
I wallow in pools of blood and wash myself anew, I throw away my ugly self in order to become something beautiful...

Really taking out the logi first is the smartest move considering you are surrounded by heavies.
In fact I recall an exact instant last build where I snuck up behind a logi who was repping a heavy who was HMG'ing the crap out of whatever.
I looked at the logi, looked at the heavy, double headshotted the logi with my pistol and withdrew to the shadows

I'm glad I traded my Amarr logi 4 and assault 3 for assault 4 and some dropsuit core upgrades. Scrambler rifle or assault SMG in hand at all times makes my focus to that of killing rather than avoiding to be killed with rep tool in hand.

Please ingore the OP he wants "Logi Easy Mode". To be near impossible to kill while repping. I guess he never played an MMORPG where the healers are squishy to OFFSET their abilty to keep allies healed up and fighting. Anyways wtf are you doing walking around in the open where someone can shoot from above you in the first place? Sounds like you deserved it to me. Keep QQ it's not going to get you anywhere. And yes I will now follow your posts around and bash them every chance I get.
I have ran Logi since my clones creation and have yet to cry about dieing. Take cover, don't be stupid, don't run across open terrain, don't stand below enemies. Logis require the most situational awareness to play. Maybe you should have switched you suit with the Dropsuit refund. All suits get killed son, get over it!

I went 10/4 today in my PRO Amarr Logistics. I have 800 EHP, two ADV weapons, a Gauged Uplink, an Allotek Nanohive and, of course, my trusty Six Kin Triage.
I spent most of the match placing a variety of uplinks in a variety of locations, and only used my rep tool in certain circumstances - ie when I wasn't going to get gibbed for doing it.
Still got 4k WP.
The trick to not dying as a medic is to not get shot. It's basically the same as any other role, only easier because you don't need to stick your head out of cover to get your rewards.

First of all, if you aproach a target over open ground wielding your repper at a heavy, you're just bad.
Those heavies should use cover to aproach, since they can't do damage from distance. If it's open field, use friggin vehicles. Do not put the repper on the heavy when he is not taking damag in such an open situation, it gives away your logi status without even scanning you with a weapon.
If all that fails, go commando and put a friggin rep tool on it. You'll even survive one to two shotty shots with it... |

+1, Fellow support logi checking in, there are many things to try and minimize the target on our backs but in the end we are the easiest targets.Running with a sqaud that sticks together does help, move constantly, use cover, etc.,when you run as a support logi KDR is a dream, WP's are the gold ring we chase. Our fittings are expensive, we are slow, carry mid tier weapons, and tend to be out run by our own sqauds in their pursuit of red dots and with the current equipment specialization adjustment (nerf) there are alot fewer of us, presson and try to adjust. Try to touch base with the squad you are in to let them know that you need them to survive and in return you can help them slay everything on the field, good luck. |

I usually die first because I am a logi with a tool but I also put myself out there to draw fire for my team to see where the reds are. I saw a a few posts saying that the hiding rep logi was a problem but it is one of our few defenses to being singled out and dropped first. I used to carry the Lia Dia tool just for that reason. To be honest if I am using my weapon then I am solo or my squad isn't doing its job well. The one thing that would help me the most is if the two people I am repping would stay together more. Two fat dudes directly in front of me getting 100 HP/s goes a long way but many heavies are too focused on what they want to kill and not what is going on. I can't keep you alive if I can't stay alive or have to find cover constantly to stay alive. The answer, as with almost every problem, is good teamwork and good communication.
