Maybe this is and unpopular opinion but I think armor is still a little too easy to stack. I don't propose that HP be reduced or fitting cost increased. I propose that the speed penalty for standard plates be increased to 3 5 and 7. This would turn 4 complex plates penalties into 28% instead of 20%, having more of an impact on a scout than a heavy. I don't think it would be too big of a hit, it just means that armor tankers like myself would be more likely to use a ferroscale or reactive plate. Any more than this is unnecessary.

i'd use the feroscale and reactives ift hey were easier to fit than normal armour plates.
but i lose alot of speed as it is with just a complex and enhanced plate. the speed penealty may not seem like much but it is noticble over time.

The speed penalty already makes running more than one plate on the Assault suits suicide.

2 enhanced armour plates slows my prototype scout down to a medium suit. no faster. unsure bout this

I can't believe this isn't common knowledge by now, there is a stacking penalty to the speed reduction too, the more plates you have on the less speed reduction there is, so 5 complex plates would reduce your speed by 14% instead of 25%. The only real hindrance I feel when putting on complex plates is the PG cost so I don't equip them and just go with enhanced plates.
If you want more balance with plates you need to make the increase in health more proportionate with all of the downsides, another 20 HP is not worth 6PG and less speed any day, health from plates should start lower and increase exponentially, just as well the penalties should too, removing the stacking penalty for speed reduction would be sufficient and keeping the cost for PG and CPU would be fine, as of right now it's not even really tempting to put on complex plates and that's coming from a guy who used the armor tanked slayer logi (emphasis on the logi)
This is a signature.

I run Gallente so I know how much armor affects my suits speed now, but I also think it's crazy a Gal Scout can stack 4 complex armor plates and still be one of the fastest suits. Oh just saw your response. Removing the stacking penalty on the penalty would be sufficient IMO.
