Not a complaint thread! Seriously!
Dmg mods were too strong for non AV light weapons. And leaving as they were May have broke the game for heavie weapons with all the highs they now get(my Gallente still only has one)
But man, the fitting cost is crazy for a extra 1 or 2 percent dmg. Your better off with a enhanced or basic mod that cost wayyyy less CPU/PG.
Shouldn't the requirements be lowered a little? I don't have a problem because I only have 1-3 high slots anyway and CPU is never hogged on a Gallente suit, but I'm feeling pretty bad for the Cals/minnys right now.

but all weapons got a damage nerf, and then they got a second damage nerf on bonus damage to armor or shields only.
This means it's 5%, but it's 5% versus armor, and 5% versus shields. It's more useful than it used to be as the only way to buff weapon damage outside of suit skills. I love the change personality, they just could of done a better job explaining it. |

I find that it helps my shotgun, but it's true, I don't do as well as the 10% damage beforehand, even then it wasn't great and hardly noticeable. |

As far as efficient fittings go, I would say no. The cpu/pg difference is too much from enhanced to complex for a 1% boost. Better off getting tbe proficiency skill.

I hope they completely rework them into actual weapon modifications. Clip extenders, ROF boosts, reload mods etc etc. Ditch the damage boost. It's boring.

that too. I was thinking of just boosting the damage on weapons that traditionally have damage mods used on them all the time: heavy weapons, PLC, Mass driver, AV, Etc. then change the damage mods to actual mods, ammo cap, range, RoF, etc. Much more diverse and much more fun for options.

Damage Mods were never broken. Prior to 1.8, Complex Shield Extenders were flat-out better than damage mods on any suit with less than 600 total HP, and equally effective from 600-725 total HP.
That meant everything except brick-tanked logis and heavies.
Now, Complex Shield Extenders are flat-out better on any suit with less than 1200 total HP, and equally viable between 1200 and 1450 total HP.
That's every single possible suit and fit in the game, except complex-plate-stacked proto Gallente and Amarr Sentinel.
Snipers and AV will still use it grudgingly, but it makes sense for nothing else.

The reason they were nerfed in terms of their output was that to have a competitive fit you needed to fill your high slots with damage mods because everyone else did.
Not only did this lead to shield tankers becoming compromised and armour tanking being the standard it lead to some frankly unimaginative fits with no one using other options available to them in the high slots. I personally nearly always run with an advanced or complex scan enhancer in one of my highs. The number of scouts who think they're safe with their passive damp they I've killed.....
As to their PG and CPU requirements, I'm of the mind that they should be the same as is now. Basically if they give only a 5% boost at complex level, saving CPU and PG with a standard version at 3% and gaining the use of a freed up high slot for shield extension is going to a viable option with the TTK being lower now.
Keep PG and CPU = greater fit variety Lower PG and CPU = FOTM and armour tanked cannons
