How does the passive scan show a cloaked person? Do they have a chevron over their head or do they show up on the minimap or what? I haven't played yet and I'm curious.

could be mistaken, as based off the #'s, even a Cal scout w/ 4 complex precision enhancements cant scan a proto gal w/ 2 complex damp (not including the cloak bonus).
As if my math is correct in how CCP does it values; a proto Cal scout w/ 4 complex p.e. reaches a detection level of 14.xx db; where a gal scout w/ 2 complex damps is at 13.xx db . So the gal scout is still unseen.
The only thing to pick up the exampled scout is a Gal logi w/ focused scanner; and the gal scout cant be cloaked while the scan is being done (w/ logi bonus of focused scanner it goes to 11.25 .... when double damp + cloaked gal scout is at 10.xx db)
You must be detecting non gal scouts then mister

i agree. maxed precision skills and a complex precision mod gives me like a 55% reduction to my scan precision, giving me like an 18 dB scan precision. i haven't had many gal scouts sneak up on me yet (probably because they're all brick tanking  )
but seriously, the gal scout getting past my scans is rarely a problem, because so many of them just brick tank it like an assault and don't even worry about dampening.

Yeah and who runs all damps? Pretty much nobody. I run two proto enhancers and I've only run into one guy I couldn't passive and I fixed that by throwing another precision on.
And to answer the first question from someone else, yes you see invisible people with red chevrons. |
