In the original 1.8 dev blog the minmatar assault bonus included a +1 to clip size per level for explosive weapons. This bonus has since been removed from the dev blog, and the minmatar bonus is now only the 5% to projectile light and sidearm weapons. Is minmatar assault just not going to get that bonus at all, or has it been removed temporarily due to not being able to put two separate bonuses into one role? If it is not coming at all, that really hurts those of us who primarily use explosive weapons, as their is no assault suit with bonuses pertaining to them. |

If you picked Minmatar fits to skill into, you chose wrong as CCP wants to keep Minmatar players down. Hence all the Minmatar changes and recent nerfs.

First they took off that bonus a good month before the patch. Second, NOT having it doesn't 'hurt' you. I don't even think that explosive weapons are really supposed to be intended as primary weapons in the first place. They are more for bombardment and support, or finishing folks.
Once the assault projectile ammo thing actually works, it will be really useful.
Tip, imo I think the ACR is one of the best anti scout weapons. The high rof and DPS is about the best combo you can get against them. The additional clip and fast reload means you have some of the most reliable weapons to hit them while they spam ADAD and if your gun fight lasts longer than 4.5 seconds to empty a clip you will have another one ready that just about anyone besides a commando. |

No, they removed the explosive bonus pretty recently, maybe a week ago at most. Also, this isn't about the bonuses it still has beren, the acr is great, and that is not the point at all of my post.
It does hurt though, as without the explosive cpu/pg reduction you can't fit a suit as well as anyone else. Less hp or less damage is the choice someone using a mass driver has without the reductions literally everyone else has. |

There is no issue with receiving two separate racial bonuses, all the sentinels have two racial bonuses as well as the scouts and logis. The +1 to explosive clip size was removed because CCP was afraid it was too much.

The problem comes in that when I dropped max skills into my Minmatar Flaylock Pistol it was with the intent of getting 4 shots before having to reload instead of just 2.

This bonus was removed quite a while ago! Not just last week.
I was one of the users who complained about it, because it would only lead to MD spam, which we don't need at all. The MD needs a drawback, and that's the long reload. If you put 11-13 round in a clip, that drawback would be gone.
My suggestion was to increase the total amount of ammo for the MD, say 2 per level. This would have helped the Assaults to be a little less dependent on logi help. But uninterupted MD spam is just bad!
There is quite a rise in MD usage right now, mostly for anti heavy and anti scout work, but I think it's in a good place, when you keep calm, you'll mow that MD user down with that rifle as usual!
MD's are the primary weapon on most of my suits btw... |
