I wanted to get that thing right off the bat, and I did. I found out that it puts Gallente in general to shame. But now, I'm getting killed by BP's left and right, which makes me wonder...is a compact sniper rifle OP?

As a scout what I'll do is open my attack with the BP, then finish them off with the CR or magsec depending on my suit.
I could list the ways how we Amarr are better than you, but your lesser mind wouldn't comprehend it.

I keep hearing people say the bolt pistol is powerful, but I cannot get used to the spool up with every shot. I WANT to like it, I really do.

It has a slow rate of fire, small clip and small ammo count.
On the plus side it has good range, accuracy, and decent damage.
Is it OP? Only in the hands of people who know how to aim. So that's a no.
I've been told that people prefer fake smiles over the honest expressions of their fellow men. : )

Have yet to see one in the killfeed, still haven't used mine either.
Have seen a single Ion Pistol kill.
Plenty o' Magsec though.
xSivartx is my Heavy. There are many like him, but he is my own...

The bolt doesn't even shoot past 63 meters.
Combine that with even lower Damage Per Clip than Ion Pistol and....
I refuse to gve honor to your 'god' so therefore i dual tank.
Also i feel itchy. Anybody got a tube of Rust-It?

It's pretty bad.
Poor range (good for a sidearm, true, but my CR seems to out range it), appalling DPS (like 250 or something) and STUPIDLY high fitting costs (6PG at STD? are you joking? Goes up to a not at all ridiculous 14 PG at proto).
I'm calling it as worse than ScP, better than IP (and therefore better than flaylock) for the pistols.
SMGs are pretty comparable (well, the ASMG is comparable to the MSMG, at least).

It's a great complimentary to the shotgun or other niche weapons because of its range & power. But the charge up with every shot makes aiming a chore. It is not fun to use.

Bolt Pistol is UP. Fact.
That being said, it is my favourite thing about dust right now.

I didn't say it was overpowered, I asked if it was, ya derp. =w= Secondly, I love the thing. It's saved my life tons of times, and I'm sure if it's in the right hands, the thing is an evil little bastard. Breaking sheilds with my Scrambler, then using it to finish off enemies is a great combination so far, especially when I'm up against heavies. It's useless on the Caldari Heavies until you break their sheilds. Which poses a problem even for my Scrambler Rifle because just have so much fricken sheilds! >< Even at Prof. 5 it's kind of a pain to shoot at Caldari Heavies. But yeah, the spool time does level it out pretty well, and the PG is that high at proto? o_o Holy crap. <_<
