Rail guns still fire like machine guns. Hardeners are weaker so dropships will die faster to rails. Double damage modded railguns are now going to be super OP.
I think hardners should be 30% for armor tanks and 50% for shield. I rather go back to 1.6 because we could fit 3 caprace armor hardners giving 25% that lasted 60 seconds with a 15 second cooldown. Now tanks are going to be easy to destroy with those militia railguns. I disapprove of this CCP. Nerf railgun further more. Also, this is a nerf to dropships who depended on hardeners. |

However a better nerf would've been to prevent people from running stacked hardeners.
With triple shield hardeners you could easily survive standing completely still under a warbarge strike. That is insane. |

DS be fine, they can already move fast and escape past 300m in any direction, FG are bugged and rail still are iffy but less range is a massive buff to DS

More like comedic. I've done it a few times and sung "Singing in the rain" while watching those feeble orbital strikes do about a tenth of damage to my shields per hit.
But I also can't deny that it was OP as hell.
Cycled hardeners I have no problem with (you can still take down a vehicle with one hardener up). But being able to stack the damage resist of multiple hardeners really shouldn't be permitted at all. |

The only thing that worries me is that damage wasn't reduced for vehicles or damage mods. Tanks were too resistant against Infantry based AV. Glass cannons got a pretty wicked buff since their prey just got a lot weaker. Railgun Installations are going to be extremely difficult to kill with a blaster tank simply because they may kill you before you kill them.

Why is that insane?
A well-fit Madrugar could do that in 1.6.
Hell, I once built a fitting for the express purpose of tanking two consecutive orbitals.
Pointless, low-DPS garbage otherwise, and I don't think it worked out, but it was fun to try.

Hate to break your stereotyping, but i'm not a redline tanker.
My favourite activity is hunting other tanks. You can't do that effectively from the redline.
Also with 15 million sp in large turrets and vehicle upgrades, I hardly need to hide in the redline... |

Hopefully this is the first of a few railgun nerfs. And yes, it really hurts hardener dependent dropships, the shield dropships in particular, since it's difficult to effectively tank those

tanks are squishy now. A double damage modded militia rail can kill everything. |
