Because shield hardeners are getting nerbatted from 60% down to 40% this means that swarm launcher damage might stick. (cause the threshhold for shield recharge was too high). a swarm launcher missile does 220HP damage per hit, against a non hardened shield tank that would be 176HP and with a hardener on (before nerf) it is only 70,4HP per missile. Now with the nerfed shield hardener (only 40% reduction instead of 60%) that is 105,6 HP per missile.
So the new damage output for each swarm launcher (before nerf): -militia/std- 281,6HP -advanced- 352 HP -proto- 422,4
And now the values after the shield hardener nerf: -militia/std- 422,4 -advanced- 528 -proto- 633,6HP
So as you see these values are against a shield tank that is running his hardener. But did you aswell realised that the damage output for swarms has beeing increased by a whooping 50%? This is far more then damage mods ever provided. Ofcourse you can enhance this even further with damage mods. But the most important thing is that the damage per missile is now above 100HP which means that the shield recharge threshhold will break. The only way to keep your shields recharging is when you run 2 hardeners at once not just one at a time.
With the new scouts and cloaks i think the AV balance might be achieved. You can have a proto swarm,cloak and sidearm etc. which means the AV guy decides when to engage a tank not the other way around. And with just 2 tanks allowed to ambush we might see much more enjoyable gameplay. Well have to see if this will work out.

Yes you were able to
Swarms work by 1 missile hitting after each other
If that 1 missile cannot break the shield regen then the regen will never stop because each missile is hitting on its own
TBH in EVE in my shield ship no matter what ship it is, it will always regen passively even if its taking damage so frankly it should be the same in DUST and in EVE there is no stop to the regen

Now that's ridiculous.
All it takes to kill a shield tank, then, is a forge gun for DPS and an MLT swarm to make sure his regen doesn't start again. Great, I'm running two (maybe three) hardeners for the foreseeable future.

good thing the sheild bbooster will be useful. its meant to boost the sheilds to help with the regen.

I have the week off and I played all day yesterday and the day before.
I still see an awful lot of tanks.
The team with the most tanks still seems to win a lot.
