Heavies are "a bit too tough to kill" because the guns deal too much damage too quickly, it's not the suits it's the weapon.
Before the HMG nerf heavies were useless, I laughed at them, they were so easy to put down. Then you made them into a challenge by fixing the weapon but it fires too fast, the HMG probably has the lowest TTK of any weapon.
I've had a tanked suit destroyed in less than a second by an HMG, I know it's CQC and they're a heavy etc, stop with that argument because it's completely missing the point.
They're not hard to take down because of HP, in that case, why aren't you nerfing logis which can stack armour? I've seen PRO logis with 800+ armour which can run faster than a heavy and has a smaller hitbox, shouldn't that be harder to take down?
Nerf the RoF of the HMG.
Don't gimp a suit which was gimped for a very long time, you were just making progress, it's 2 steps forward and 1 step back at this point.
Also you should have left the shotgun alone, the RoF nerf along with the poor hit detection (which I hope is being hot-fixed) it's starting to feel a lot like the old shotgun which was unusable.
Oh and didn't you just buff the HP of the heavy last build? The TTK only changed a bit which made you feel like you were taking down a more formidable opponent (like it should be) but because of the RoF and HMG damage buff on some maps you got obliterated by heavies because you couldn't get outside of their range, you are ALWAYS in a heavy's optimal range on that underground complex skirmish/domination map with the supply depot underground.
That's why you get 5 or 6 heavies per team. I think that the HMG's range is also too much, I've been destroyed at 35m by one, running away sometimes isn't an option when it will take you 5-6 seconds to get out of range, by which time, you're already dead. i did some testing and they can finish you off at 40m
The rail rifle needed a clip size nerf to 36 instead of 42, it definitely needed a dmg nerf; the combat rifle should have been nerfed to 1000dps instead of staying at 1200dps; although I don't have prof 5 so i dont know how that would work with the dmg nerf.
you should have nerfed the HMGs range by 15% and the Rof by 20%, that would mean; that squishy suits would still die quickly but logi/assault suits would have a chance to run round a corner; The shotgun did NOT need its' proficiency changed.
the minmatar assault did not need to lose it's armour rep, it only has 2 low slots at ADV, that's 466 armour which I cannot recover.
Every suit should have a passive armour regen with the option to skill into it. now people run around in expensive suits but have 25% of their HP because they can't recover it! what a waste of ISK! Drop hives? drop nerfed hives so people can complain that you're "camping on triage hives" so they get nerfed further?
Also the aim assist is really strong, I honestly think that you're just hiding poor hit detection, rail rifles can still destroy my guy running at 10.4m/s at 60m, there's no skill involved when the computer tracks the opponent for you. but then people will cry that they can't track the suits and kin cats will get nerfed.
get a dedicated team of playtesters, give them their own environment on your test server, give them a list of things you want looked into and the top players in the game of varying playstyles will be able to give you more valuable feedback than you could ever achieve. The people who make this game don't have time to sit around and play it, I doubt the devs cap out at all. That's where the players step in.
Give us tests. I would happily stand still and rep a heavy whilst it takes X amount of damage per second to test the repair tool, which did NOT need to be nerfed! now you need 2 or more logis on the same heavy for it to survive against another heavy. one rep tool is not enough, which encourages teamwork but then you have 3 people as one gun, which is less effective than 2 people running guns other than an HMG, let alone all 3 being free to shoot.
And what about those tanks? Could you not hot fix the price? make mlt tanks expensive and they will disappear, then jihad jeeps will disappear. but then what about when a jihad jeep can easily target the only tank on the field? then it's a problem. but you need to start at the source,why are people pulling out LAVs?
Because you nerfed the FG and SL, you've just nerfed DMG mods and AV nades, people are desperate and that's why jihad jeeps exist. you're annoying the people who are pitifully trying to remove a 60k tank from the field and you're really annoying the people who lose 300K ISK tanks to people who are only using the tactic because you allowed MLT tank spam in the first place!
Without balance comes desperation, let us lessen the load. We should vote on players who always bring good ideas to the table, then you can focus on programming and assets whilst we tell you what's working and what's not. We do that through the forum but it's easier said than done.
The redline still needs to be fixed, people can STILL sit hundreds of metres behind the redline, invisible, invincible, un-renderable? snipers can still snipe onto objectives and prevent people from hacking. redline activities should result in zero WP gain
lots of QQ, much butthurt, such forum and much topic. Not really, 1.8 hasn't changed for me only that the scanner is now used how it's supposed to be used, the scan angle needs a slight increase however.
I may reget posting this but it's too late, IT IS WRITTEN, like bacon in the pan, once it goes in and that smells come out, you're cookin' that sonbitch!
Oh and I guarantee you I'm missing quite a few things. |
