Between the submachine gun and the scrambler pistol which sidearm is better? Moreover, why do you think whatever gun you have chosen is better than the other? |

Personally I would choose the SMG. I used to appreciate the SCP a lot, but the RoF nerf it took is huge, and while the SMG was comparable in performance in previous builds, the nerf it received was a lot smaller and a lot less crippling.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

I like the scrambler pistol due to ending confrontations with one shot. |

Before 1.8 I would consider the two very similar in performance, with perhaps a slight edge to the SMG for ease of use. Now, its not even close. The SMG received a 8.7% nerf to damage in 1.8, while the scrambler pistol lost something along the lines of 40-50% ROF. For now, SMG > SP |

If your good at Aiming... Scrambler pistol.
If your good at Hip fire Submachine gun.
Honestly the Magsec has the best all around potential...
The Scrambler pistol is the best for finishing a kill
And the Sub is the best for CQC hip fire emergencies. |

I think I will just use the submachine gun since it is easier to use. The RoF nerf doesn't help things either. |

The rate of fire decrease has made the scrambler pistol unusable to me.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

This thread made me thing of amarr and gallente smgs :) I wish minmatar had a projectile pistol I don't care for the flaylock, and the scp is a blast to use, ROF nerf hurt it bad, I feel for the new players using starter fits fits wondering what kind of futuristic pistol shoots so slow.

They now have very similar DPS. The SMG has 10 meters less effective range but triple the damage per clip. I carry the SMG.

I remember a thread a while ago with a well thought out idea for the Gallente SMG being a flamethrower type deal. I would use the hell out of that... (insert dreamy montage of red dots burning alive while classical music plays in the background.)
I have no idea what the Amarrian SMG would be like, but I bet it would be equally as awesome. . |

Also speaking of fire I've always thought of a flamethrower as another heavy weapon, with the image of team fortress 2 pyros looking for spies. Especially now that we have tf2 spies
