It seriously doesn't need a buff. in the right (wrong) hands it could potentially be deadly. I like it and i think the range is a bit... eh, but i think its fine. Anyways, it was meant to have low range.
Assassination is my thing.

I wouldn't mind going for a specialized gun just for me. Even if it just does 1 damage... that GLORIOUS text scrolling by when I manage to take someone out will be enough reward.

Anything I hit with a fully charged Ion gets OHKOed. I'm not even kidding.
Have to agree though, in the right hands, this thing could be a sidearm shotgun. Hop > charge > win

Name it Smooth's Ion Pistol if you're actually recommending it CCP, but i do seek a tiny buff for this weapon but i don't think it should be that much, maybe 10% more damage. I can see it requires alot of skill to use it so i see your point.

What they could do to make this gun reliable though would be to make it not overheat after every single charge shot.
So basically: Fully charged shot > pew > pew > overheat
Not: Fully charged shot > overheat -- Especially with the shots sometimes not registering glitch.

I have a bad habit of holding down the trigger a lot with my weapons; pretty sure it's based on my ScR. This ends poorly with the ion pistol, for obvious reasons.
Bolt Pistol is great fun, though. I would likely to out range CR or something, though. It's a bit futile, especially since I can't miss a single shot to have a chance of killing people.

Funny I got right behind a guy in a starter fit (caldari as well so better for its damage profile) and popped a fully charged shot into his head, he survived thankfully he seemed to be AFK so he didn't turn round in the 3.5 seconds of uselessness that followed but it did take about 3-4 more shots to finish him off.

I think I'm so used to the Scr Pistol that I still try to engage enemies at that distance. I just have to get a little bit closer. The charged shot is fricking beautiful though. Though if done to early you wind up with kill assist. {I've been trying to use it in conjunction with the shotty and probably knives later today} |
