So I haven't really had a chance to play 1.8 yet, but I hear the logi's haven't really been as affected as I thought they would be. I still need to pick a race now and I'm not sure what to go with.
I very rarely use proto so it will be more for me about which advanced logi works the best, and so far the Amarr looks like the frontrunner, as it has 30 armour more than the Gallente suit, one more high slot, and most importantly, a sidearm, which is great as I use a mass driver most of the time.
If you were to run a fighty logi suit, which would you go with and why?
Using the mass driver exclusively since 1.5

I like playing with my longer tool so I wouldn't know about battle logi.

If you were to run a fighty logi suit, which would you go with and why? The logi bonuses have been totally changed. That is a major factor to consider. In terms of slayer logi suits, I guess the Cal or Gal are the best options as their bonuses are towards things that help you to kill (nanohives and scanners - though scanners are pretty poor now). Min (repair tool bonus) and Amarr (drop uplink bonus) are more support roles. |

I have a full fitting list of amazing Minmatar mk.o killer bee suits, mk.0 Logibro, mk.0 Charge Sniper, mk.0 Charge Sniper Cloak, m/1 Logibro (still an amazing workhorse), m/1 Logi match roadrunner starter fits, m/1 Scout CR + NK cloakes, m/1 SG+ SMG, m/1 Assault dual tank + speed, m/1 Assault dual tanks + Speed and Ghost, m/1 Assault Mass driver (EC-3 & EXO-5) + SMG m/1 logi uplink spam, m/1 proto hive + hospital spam, m/1 Logi proxie det road blocks
list goes on and they are all tweaked out to maximum capability.
Thing is I'm still a scrub but I am having a field day with advanced scout, advanced assault, adcaned and proto logi fittings. I have a newly married relationship with =DUST 514= at the moment.
In game mail me at fragmentedhackslash and we can duplicate fittings if you would like?
EDIT//: Six KIN Triage rep tool is exactly the same if skilled to Minmatar logi V. Throw that on an m/1 with std nanite injectors and k17/d (r) hives and there is a ripper Advanced logibro.

Cool thanks for the replies guys. Fragmented, is there a particular reason you think the Minmatar is better suited to logi-slaying or is it just because you have a hard-on for Minmatar in general?

Best advanced frame is the minmatar logi from my experience. The amount of versatility you get from one suit is pretty awesome.
Caldari for second best equipment bonus
Gallente for pure support logi
Amarr if you want to stay in the back and be more of a long-ranged support, dropping uplinks, or more of an agressive assault logi. The amarr logi is the slowest medium frame though...

Hope this helps with making an informed decision about which suit to spec into.
MINMATAR LOGI : Pros: Fastest logi, repair tool bonus (your tool will be more efficient and have longer range), fast hacking speed Cons: Lowest base HP
An efficient support suite that is speedy and great for zipping around the battle field and logi support for faster squad mates (light and medium frames). Due to its low HP you might want to run with a squad if you intend on getting in the thick of the action- or putting on alot of armor. We are currently see this suit being used mostly in a support role although I have seen some good slayer logi's (xthesillyrabbitx) use this suit effectively.
AMARR LOGI Pros: Highest base HP, side-arm, uplink bonus (if you drop uplinks they have faster spawn time and more spawns) Cons: Slowest logi, less equipment slots at standard/proto
Whilst this suit feels like slow motion in comparison to the minmatar you are a lot more resistant to enemy fire. You will get a side-arm with this suit which can come in handy if you intend on doing a lot of killing. We weren't seeing too many of these logi suits in previous patches but people are now spec-ing into them for the uplinks (especially for use in PC)
GALLENTE LOGI Pros: Only logi suit that still repairs its own armor, active scanner bonus Cons: Being predominantly armor based your plates will slow you down and make u more susceptible to armor based weapons.
We have seen this, and the Caldari, suit most commonly used by slayer logi's. Most people will stack armor on this suit so you have an opportunity for quite alot of HP and can take more enemy fire (at the cost of speed). For this reason it can also make a good support logi companion for heavy frame squad mates or those who play in the thick of the action (because it can handle high damage situations).
CALDARI LOGI i Pros: Nanohive bonus (your nanohives will be more efficient), shields recharge faster and with less delay. Cons: less equipment slots at standard/proto, stacking shields makes you more vulnerable to shield based weapons
Previously a FOTM slayer suit because (some would argue) it had better slot configurations than the caldari assault. This suit will typically have a lot of sheilds stacked onto it to benefit from the shield bonus. So overall you might have less HP than a gallente but will be quicker.
... I have personally tried all these suites up to proto except the caldari (I couldn't stand having only 3 equipment slots at proto). As a pure support logi my fave is Minmatar- a sentiment shared by many- followed by the Gallente suit.
Good luck with making a decision. Its a tough one.

Minmatar Logi Best Logi.
Every build i end up going back to matari logi. Speed and 4 equipment slots are the advantages.
Tank : Dual tank if you have to, but shield tanking it and putting biotics in your lows can work really well for getting about. Fitting plates cuts into your foot speed which is one of the major advantages to this suit.
Gank : Light weapon of choice, combat rifle is an obvious choice here, but run whatever you want.
Tools : Standard logibro loadout would be : - Nanite injector / repair tool / wild. - Carry the best injector and rep tool you can fit. The proto rep tools in particular are great, but at lower levels the Flux Repair Tool gives you the best range.
For the last slot, or two you could carry repping hives, hive and uplink, or different combinations as needed. I will leave scanners to the ewar guys.
Staying alive and doing your job : - Situational awareness is really key to running logibro. - You will constantly need to poll your blues while tracking the reds and the flow of the fight. - Having the needle fit will provide intel on where casualties are happening. - Holding the rep tool will show you the shield / armor bars of any blues in the area.
Rezzing and the bads : This is your call, make it fast. If the area is free of reds go for it. If the area is still hot you may have some killing to do. Rezzing under fire is a rookie mistake that most players will get really annoyed by. A special case here would be if you have a proto needle and are rezzing a heavy. Getting the fat man back on his feet at 80% armor can be a real **** you to the bad guys.
Active Tanking a blue under fire : Decision time, do you rep the blue, or engage the reds? Think fast, everyones lives are on the line here. - Only attempt this with a proto rep tool, anything less will fail, horribly, and everyone you love will die. - Plate fit heavies work best, the larger the armor buffer they have the better chance of reps holding. Heavies and armor fit assaults, lolscouts...
Communicate with your blue, let him know you have good reps on him, then rake in those points. Getting two logibro with proto reps on a hmg heavy in an ugly situation can generate a warbarge strike worth of points in a hurry btw.
Critical Safety Tip If you need to drop reps for whatever reason let your blue know so he can get out of the line of fire or at least try.
Hopefully this will assist.

haha I ran Min Logi all of 1.7 and it was probly the most versatile logi whether it be for slayer or for equipment whoring. Truthfully it really bases on what equipment u want to run the most i have proto everything equipment wise except for the new claok mod, and It took me a while to decide which way i wanted to go. id recommend if u want to go slayer logi its not super viable anymore since theres no good bonuses, id recommend making a cheap logi fit for equipment support and then making a 2nd class to switch to for dmg. like i pop in with my logi to drop hives (caldari of course) then switch to my minmitar commando for super mass driver harassment.
but fck it do whatever u want its a game!
