I *should* have a passive scan radius of 28 meters (soon to be 30) and a scan resolution of 32.3, meaning I should see pretty much all heavies and most medium suits from 28 meters away passively.
I have no found this to be even remotely the case on the amarr scout so far.
Anyone else having similar issues?

I haven't noticed any problems with the passive radar lately, though with all the other bugs, it wouldn't surprise me if there's one involving the passive scanning. What exactly are you running on your scout? What levels do you have in the E-Ware department? I know before that I had to have at least one complex precision enhancer to even detect medium suits, so either everyone was and currently are running dampeners, or there's definitely a bug with passives.

I am running a amarr scout lvl 5 in that skill but it doesn't matter for ewar lvl 4 precision, lvl 4 rangee, lvl 5 dampning no ewar mods (c'mon, its an amarr scout)
So I figure I should be able to see anything that is above say 33 dB scan profile within 28 meters while in my scout suit. This is not the case. Heavys don't appear until within ~12-13 meters

Anyone else having similar issues? I've been using the Scout ck.0 on an alt and noticed similar results. I did find if the enemies are in your line of sight (basically anywhere on your screen) they do passively show up on your mini-map. Not sure if this is whats intended or not as passive scans have always seemed quite broken to me. |

Not sure what to say. Try popping on a precision mod. I caught somewhere that the range is actually affected by your precision, so even if you've got a 30M scan radius, if your precision is just barely better than a suit's scan profile, you won't see them until they're much closer (Not sure if that's true or not and can't even remember where I saw it) Definitely get that precision skill to lv5 too and you should be seeing some better results. I know the Amarr scout is kinda gimped in the E-Ware department, so it might just be the suit.

My min commando was tracking a scout through a wall at around 30-40 meters....
Git switched son?
Also it appears to be extremely buggy, my friend had entire sockets lighting up in his calscout, and other games he would get shotgunned by a sentinel.
I refuse to gve honor to your 'god' so therefore i dual tank.
Also i feel itchy. Anybody got a tube of Rust-It?

Scanning doesn't seem to have worked properly for me since Uprising first released.
Would be nice to have a proper and accurate explanation of how passive scanning ACTUALLY works, instead of the explanation they keep giving us for how it's SUPPOSED to work, which is apparently very different. |

I tested out a logi with three complex precision enhancers and three complex range extenders didn't seem to be working as i had an assult kill me from 30 meters away but he was not on my mini map. Would he really have been running 2 dampeners??? |

It's always been pretty temperamental.
I run fully specced gallente scout with 2 complex precision and 3 range amps and I usually see EVERYTHING! However, it seems that people on the edge of the radius show up as dimmer chevrons (and sometimes the old dot arrow shape - what's up with that?). The worst of it is that equipment will sometimes show up for like a second then just disappear until you manage to get LOS on it.

The inconsistency of passive scanning has been one of the most frustrating "little things" that's been annoying me ever since CCP claim to have released the game. |

Got 54 meters and a scan precision of 28.8dB. Passive scanning works beautifuly for me.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

My scans working fine. Tried out 75m @ 28dB scan earlier and got pretty much everyone.
