So apparently the heat reduction bonus is not applying to scrambler rifles.
Try it for yourself, go camp out near a supply depot and switch between a non amarr assault with scrambler and an assault with a scrambler. Notice how they both get the same 15 shots until overheat? That means that the amarr assault suit is entirely broken.
I mean it is already is the slowest assault to get anywhere, hardest to navigate terrain in, the one with the least slots, and a slot layout that completely blows, but now even the bonus to 1 out of 2 weapons doesn't work.
As an aside I found that the laser heat reduction worked for me earlier, bringing the templaer laser down from 40 shots left at overheat down to 20 shots left at overheat. Unfortunately all of the lasers have the same overheat point.
While there is no better place to be wealthy than the Gallente Federation, there is no hell worse for the poor either.

This is a known issue acknowledged in the 1.8 feedback/bugs list by Logibro. though I would love an ETA for the fix! Amarr Assault is worthless till the heat bonus is working :/ |

It's easiest to test with the Laser. It's always guaranteed to overheat with 40 rounds left in the clip.
I'm reasonably sure I was using my Viziam at the time too. And that's not supposed to overheat until 32 rounds.
So perhaps the entire code governing overheat has suffered a bug.

I can reproduce it across 5 different suits. All overheat at 30 shots left from a full clip (15 shots fired). This has as much to do with how fast you pull the trigger as well.
So while you may overheat at ~ shot 16 or 17, that is a function of how fast you can spam R1. You will not see any benefit to using an amarr assault with the ScR over other suits though, and that is not what is advertised on the tin.

The reduction of damage doesn't help this weapon either. The scrambler rifle was really very well balanced, its issue persisted from the damage modifiers.
