Summary: USER EXPERIENCE STILL AGONIZING.
Today, I logged into Dust to take 1.8 for a spin. I have finished many battles ranked #1, so why am I dissatisfied?
This game is still utter bunk. Performance problems and glitches galore prevent a smooth user experience. It's simply an agonizing struggle to try to do anything meaningful. Not to mention, several weapons getting nerfed and massive imbalances abound.
Like I've said before, 1.8 is simply polishing a turd.
This game becomes less and less fun with every new release.
Good luck CCP. I've never spent a dime on this game, and I never will unless you enhance the user experience. Reduce time wasted waiting around in load screens. Reduce rubber banding. Eliminate the agony of fighting against terrain. Add some logical value to the game mechanics (remove fatigued jumping, etc.)
It's simply more tedious than fun at this point.

I agree the game should be much smoother. It's annoying that fitting modules lags, menus are slow, spawn times at the beginning of matches is never synced, etc. But that being said I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a polished turd; I like to think of it as a turdy pearl. :)
I've been playing this game for a long time and I can say it definitely has improved, albeit not as quickly as I had hoped. |

My gameplay is seamless 95% of the time, even when playing across the pond. Check your jitter and ping, you can Terabyte download and upload speeds but unless you have a reliable connection it ain't worth squat.
The rifles are considerably more balanced (maybe not internally) I haven't even had a bad experince with the new weapons.
The heavies take a bit of work, but so long as you pick your fights its not really a problem.
Cloaks aren't exactly easy to miss and Mass Drivers work as expected, the only thing I have yet to have the joy of encountering is laser rifles, which I can't wait to see how they perform.
Unless your a Computer Scientist don't tell me how Game Mechanics Work.
