First off...there is a 1.9 ideas thread Here
I would say use that thread to post your ideas....I'm just going to offer a point of view in this thread for you to consider before making suggestions about 1.9 and on a suggestion that the OP in that thread made. Musings, mind you.
-#3 - introduce the player owned-market. - I feel like this would be a great move for Dust 514, but I think that would be a sizable time investment and a HUGE expansion to Dust 514 / EVE. It doesn't sound complicated, but if you really think about it....its a lot of coding. The coding is already there, with the salvage feature of course....but on a huge player base scale, it seems to reason it would be a bit more complicated. Perhaps we could be hoping for this feature 2.0 - 2.2?
In EVE two players can trade things in station just by selecting the option and that would be GREAT to have in Dust. I would say that would be the first step in implementing a player market because that could be built off of into a "marketplace" type market.
Also....ATTENTION CCP - I realize you want to link both games together more and more...and I think this would be a perfect opportunity to allow EVE players to obtain BPO/BPC's of all infantry dropsuits and weapons and modules and things like that. That would not only give miners in low/high sec a new function in EVE, but also could add to the fun of both games.
I think that corporations in Dust / EVE should need a role for those that manufacture the infantry equipment and there should be a skill set in the skill tree much like there is in EVE for buying. The more SP you put into it, the cheaper you can buy your equipment for vs the marketplace prices. Like....5% cheaper per level
I also believe that the base prices EVE pilots can sell the equipment for should be equivalent to the current market prices...because that'll keep it inline and restrict a "black market" problem of corps like Nyain San having Prototype Dropsuits for $1 isk. BUT, a skill tree would help and if they were only able to buy from the corporation they are in, that would be good.
So if the Amarr commando suit is say...94,000 isk per suit, right? They purchase the skillbook "BROKER RELATIONS" (which is already in EVE) for the same amount of ISK as say, the Dropsuit engineer/electronics skillbook cost? and then the broken relations skills 0-5 give 5% cheaper equipment purchase from the corporations designated EVE player(s) that are manufacturing the weapons, dropsuits, modules, ect.
So say an Amarr AK.0 was 94,000 isk right? Level 1 saves 5% and makes it 4,700 isk less per spawn. So if you bought 10 suits and normally paid 940,000 isk, you pay instead 89,300 isk and for 10 suits its 893,000 isk.
See? So at level 5, you'd save 25% on whatever you bought, making the new price 23,500 isk lower per spawn so for 10 suits you'd spend 705,000 isk instead of 940,000 isk.
I also think it should be the highest SP rank for sure.
124,400 SP for LEVEL 1 373,000 SP for LEVEL 2 870,600 SP for LEVEL 3 1,741,200 SP for LEVEL 4 3,109,200 SP for LEVEL 5
That way, it can't be acquired quickly. That would give corporations ample time to find / recruit EVE players. It would prevent an immediate influx of EVE pilots building proto everything and flooding the market and everyone having a protosuit for cheap in a month. It would not only give Dust mercs something to aspire too, EVE pilots an added feature of mining but would add to the level of play. People would have new incentives to buy Passive/Active boosters and play more often.
I also think the CORP CEO should have a "Corporate Broker Relations" skill tree, to enable his/her corporation to be able TO use EVE Pilots to built the corp equipment.
Pair that (much later on) with the skinning / ship painting you just introduced to EVE, and not only will corps have their gear custom made, reduced prices that are still expensive but not SO expensive, but it will reflect their corporation AND will connect EVE / Dust in a REAL way that has an impact players FEEL.
So yeah, my two cents on that. |

New character models for the gallente heavy and caldari heavy.
Both are fat and the gallente is just as ugly as I've been saying for the last week. A Cpm told me to wait for ingame model, I did, it's even worse.
