With the TTK increase of one point eight, its only fair that grenades get a buff, also not to mention AV grenades. I am one of those who are against grenade spam, but I do believe that a tactically thrown proto locus should instakill most suits, or at the very least, 2 hit kill a tanked proto medium frame whilst rarely needing a third throw unless we're talking heavies.
AV grenades need a huge buff overall whilst flux grenades seem fine as it can destroy any shields, though I'd like it to home on vehicles like the AV grenades.
Okay, so as of 1.8 grenade capacity has been reduced to 2, this was a great idea that reduces spamming, but I do think that because of this grenades should be more potent. Less grenades that are more powerful gives the impression "I gotta make this grenade count", since missing translates to a big loss of alpha. I won't bring out any numbers, don't want anyone to freak out after all.
Actually numbers seem appropriate
Core locus: 750 - same radius
Boundless packed locus: 1000 - slightly better radius than m8 packed
Freedom sleek locus: 500 same radius
Thuckker locus: 600 with same radius of 2.5 but 2 grenade capacity
Lai dai AV: 2000 damage/same radius
Wirkomi AV: 1750 damage/same radius
Sleek AV: 1500 damage/same radious
Flux remains same, just homing on vehicle ability |

HELL NO.
Any weapon that can OHK any suit needs to be nerfed IMHO.
I assume you'd just use them on MLT suits for easy kills, or become a Cal Logi and stand on your own hives spamming them.
The ONLY grenades that need a buff are AV.
"Gotta make this grenade count" is what the reduction is for doing 500+ damage for a weapon with large range is horribly OP.
Core locus can already kill rooms full of people as they are currently. You just want the ability to OHK heavies.

I'm not opposed to a buff to nades but I think there may be some balance issues with having a 1000 dmg Locus rain of terror into some poor red dot's location...some poop may even spay out around the edges of someone's screen.

Bump AV grenades back to three and keep other grenades as they will be in 1.8 and I don't really see any reason to buff the damage (maybe AV but I can't say since I don't really use those)

Im fine with leaving the anti-prsonnel (ie: regular) nades where they are, reducing the amount down to 2.
AV nades though, since they are being reduced down to 2 (from 3, which is already pathetic) need a stiff damage increase, we're talking 50% just for 2 nades to keep pace with their current horrific selves, yet alone get back to being "useful" AV. After all, they are currently the lowest damage, and shortest range form of AV in the game. |
