So a Standard weapon with more of a brick tank and a damage mod could compete with a Proto and a Duvolle... But this was when DUST was about player skill... not on I have "X" amount of SP, You have "X" amount of SP. I have "This equipment and weapons" You Have "that equipment and weapons' Both Aim assists lock And math determines the winner. Who ever has the bigger number wins.. Player skill left on the sidelines. Otherwise I own every BPO in the game and never use them... They just aren't competitive.. Unless using it with superior Skill points on people with less then half of yours.. When CCP introduced Aim Assist and Nerfed player skill as the major factor in DUST 514.. The scaling and balance of weapons and suits in DUST went out the freaking window... The only time you see a shimmer of it starting to come back in the game is PC where everyone is at 30-50mil Skill points and maxed out... around their specialization.. Then the only things that are separating players is usually DUST's game performance and a glimmer of playerskill showing through.
