Kite.
Don't fit it to a Maddy.
I like nitro, and either two hardeners or a hardener and a damage mod.
I also like two damage mods, but that's stupid, so don't do it. I imagine that it's the closest a tank will ever come to actually being a shotgun scout.

Love them but frustrating if you are not into missiles.
Yes, do run them on a maddy with double reps! I prefer to run them on what they are supposed to go with, the gunnlogi.
However, the gunny is harder to survive without running away to recharge hardeners. The maddy is better for several targets and can stay in the fight. It also takes rail hits better.
A damage mod or two for specifically targeting shield rail tanks.
Absolutely must have that reload skill up or they suck. Rotation helps but I think it is bugged.
I run nitro, hardener and either another hardener or dmg mod. On the maddy I run dmg mod, two reps and a plate.

If you can get behind an enemy tank and unload on a weak point with even the Standard Large Missile Turret, there's a good chance you'll kill them before they realise it's time to turn on their hardeners.
If they have hardeners running, then you'll probably need a reload. As you're running low on ammo, get into cover, and STAY hidden while reloading. If possible, use cover to reposition somewhere unexpected rather than popping back out in the same place, especially if you've taken damage already.
Do NOT engage head-on with an enemy you can't kill with your first volley.
Against infantry, fire one or two missiles at a time, don't just spam shots in their general direction (I sometimes forget to TAKE this advice, that doesn't mean it's not good advice). Basically, burst fire instead of holding the fire button down. |
