Dropships have had to watch out for not only suicide dropships, but simply other dropships attempting to evade them, since the dawn of DUST.
Aka:

I can't get on your level..... my Nitrous doesn't let me fly for more than 30 seconds...... I kind of know what you mean though..... I'm driving along and minding my own business......then the worse, foulest, most explicit word's exit Aero Yassavi's mouth....and I know someone Kamikaze'd him.

I was flying my ADS earlier, and some nub comes up and nearly rams me. With his own Python! ;_; I was taken down into Armor (on my Python) and he was nearly unharmed, until he flipped over backwards and rammed himself into the rings (on the Cargo Hub).
Yes, this was an irrelevant post, but I DON'T CARE! I shared my story! >:|

I'm never in the redline but I'm pretty damn close to it though
Edit: I've been strucked by CCP logic and my sense is slowly fading away...

I apologize for wining and dining my bomb truck. It wasn't a very good series of dates though, she often WHINED too much for my taste.

JLAVs are fine, and fun. I hated them until I used one.
I like to place the RE's on my LAV in one long stack.

Initially when a bomb truck hits..... I feel cheated...... but then I realise I was doing a good enough job that someone felt the need to explicitly hunt me down.....and I smile as my second tank enters the battlefield, vastly more prepared.

On a similar note during the last event I kept encountering the same blue-dot at our forward spawn. We were on the downhill side of a poorly designed Domination map that basically screams for the other team to redline Rail. This blue-dot did the same thing over and over. He called in a Dropship, plastered the front in Remotes, changed suits, and flew towards the enemy redline.
I saluted him. It doesn't matter no one ever saw it. That man was a giant among men.

Call me a fool. Too many time I have fought Rail gun tanks I never should have beaten....and you know what. If I run I die. I stand and fight and win....though admittedly if they couldnt kill me they were either new or incompetent.
Better to be a fool than someone who runs from a fight. As a proud Amarrian this is my way..... better to get used to it now.....since Amarr HAV won't be fast enough to blitz the enemy, nor to run.

With how tanks are now I'm pretty sure they'll be faster than today's sports cars

Well put it this way..... if a Gallente HAV is a 60 tonne tank..... the Amarr HAV is an 80 tonne tank.....

I wonder if that was me, LMAO. I do it with LAVs and Dropships. I mainly do it when I am placed into a game that's already been in progress awhile and all I see is tanks everywhere. I'll go kamikaze mode if 1 tank is killing people nonstop, if a tank is in redline, or there are just a ton of tanks.

When I get rustled enough to call in a double modded militia railgun, I'm not going to take chances with my target finding cover, oh no.
I'm going to roll into the field of battle, get behind it, thrust my railgun deep, deep, deep into its weakspot, and squeeze off round after round after round until i'm overheated and one or both of us are smoking wrecks

I'm a dropship specialist.
I did not forget them, I simply knew that they were already included in the word 'Dropship'
This thread is simply addressing the player to player relationship of these things, of being able to be completely destroyed for a fraction of the cost and effort so long as you're caught with your pants down.
