You have made me proud during your days, but your OPness was caught by CCP. You will still make me proud by getting hit with the nerf hammer, i only wish you could have dodged it.
To be honest, i feel a bit lost in my choice of sidearms apart from scrambler pistols. I don't know which sidearm to pick, if i go bolt pistol or magsec SMG them my ROF is terrible, but if i go with SMG my range is.... eh. Scrambler pistol was great, it was in the middle of both. If anyone can help me choose a sidearm then that would be helpful.
Assassination is my thing.

Best Sidearm? Only if you are really good at headshots... personally I really sucked at them so I was always really bad with the ScP. Sucks to see it get unnecessarily nerfed though. It was only OP in the hands of skillful players which I don't really see as being actually OP. |

CCP never says tells us "why", they just make ridiculous changes and leave the playerbase in the dark. The entire front page can be filled with players complaining about a change, a simple explanation could diffuse the whole thing and all we get is silence.

From the Static Data Export which is generated when the code is compiled. It's posted elsewhere in the forums and requires SQLite3 to read.

What really hurts though is the proficiency nerf. Purely extra shield damage is nuts because shield HP ceiling is so low.

The SMG is getting hit hard as well. I have a lot of SP trapped in it unfortunately. |

Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

I might take a look at the Ion Pistol. My scrambler pistol is only at level 2 and used as a side arm for my heavy to give it some range. I just prefer slower firing higher damage pistols so went with the breach. Just will be annoying to try to keep up also on Galliente loyalty for Ion Pistols instead of just sticking full out Amarr. (My HMG is level 5 so I don't care for Minmatar lp to get the Republic Boundless)

It was the last weapon I invested in - glad I only got up to prof 2.
I refuse to go MagSec - it will get nerfed unless it has ridiculous recoil/dispersion or something.
Need more weapons that require a particular skill/talent to use well - and where they currently exist (shotgun/NK/PLC) they need some fine tuning...
Or actual balance, that would be cool too...

As I recall, the CPM was onboard with "nerfing the flaylock into the ground" Well, good job. It is sufficiently dead. I guess maybe the Scr Pistol is on it's way. I wonder when the SMGs will get nerfed considering they have always been, and continue to be the most OP of the sidearms. |
