I been away from dust a few months, started playing eve, but today i decided to check up on my people in dust, (blah blah blah who the **** cares?)

but then i checked the starmap and saw we own a quarter of districts in fw (caldari does)]

i almost cried as it was the most beautiful thing i seen, my caldarian brothers and sisters are finally taking groun once again for the glory of the state! what did i miss that made this possible?, was it jsut luck? or are we finally giving those gallentean scumbags what they deserve?

 Stop that...

Both sides ran suicide squads and the Caldari, from their Factional Warfare Army support, was notoriously known for that.

The Caldari haven't really gotten stronger lately.
It's the FW fix - less attacks are generated on districts for the losing side. It means that when you have no districts and you take one, there isn't immediately a series of reattacks on it until you lose it. It means that instead an attack is generated on another district, and you can fight over that one.

What is truly happening, is that CCP changed FW to where there is a timer set before the district could be attacked again. Beforehand, as soon as the Caldari would claim a district, that same district would instantly be attacked simultaneously until the district was re-captured.

Switching over for LP? I don't think so. Most people won't play FW until the atrocious payouts are addressed.

TL;DR The Gallente didn't get bored. They just don't have their crutch known as Scotty The Match*cker.

 Calamari got helped by CCP.
The system they implemented makes it so that neither side can actually win FW, there will always be a 50/50 split of districts, with only 5% deviation.

They couldn't just implement a system where if a defense is won, that district is locked for half an hour.
Nooo, they had to implement a stupid system in which fighting in FW is even more pointless, as you can't really affect the battlefield.

Now FW is just pub matches with LP rewards and friendly fire

Now FW is just pub matches with LP rewards and friendly fire it needed a quick fix until we're able to trade for other lp items. we need the scrubs (cal/amr) to keep playing fw, so they have gear to trade, when the market opens.

Most play FW for the stuff to get, now that the RR has hit the ground in its OP state evry FOTM chaser has gone to Caldari FW.

Now include the nerf to AR's to sidearm grade and the nerf to SG proficiency al lot of players don't see any reason to fight for gallente anymore...Caldari stuff is simply better and the upcoming MagSec and Bolt Pistol will further draw people into Caldari FW...

These are CCP patch notes. They have incomplete information, but I'd attribute that to incompetence rather than it being a 'taster'.

RR Specialist item. Everyone and their grandma wants one. Sadly FW favours Dust mercs FOTM, which I'm sure eve pilots love. My guess is that Minnmatar will dominate after 1.8 because of the Specialist CR.

You think giving a taster of what the full changes and tweaks is stupid to do to a community that cries and bangs their heels, like an infant in full roar, at the littlest suggestion of change
Giving enough to satiate some of the hunger for info without giving it all away till the release day is a extremely fine art most media businesses use. Its called building anticipation, as well as what I mentioned already, the desire to not release information that people will take in a negative light until they've had a chance to actually get hands on time with the new and improved medium.
You've been here long enough where I'll put it down to bad memory that taster patch notes is exactly what we got many a time before. Maybe you'll call them incomplete patch notes due to ineptitude on CCP's part. Maybe even, and this is the most likely, the full notes don't get released until patch day because CCP are still working on the details. As it stands they're already working on a hotfix for issues that they already know are in the day one 1.8 patch. Why the hell would they release all details before patch day when they already know of some issue and are actively looking for others. Cop on
