What we need here is some input from the dev's about reducing the range of railgun's on tanks.
Make the range of railguns the same as forge guns.
I think this will reduce red line tanking. |

What we need is some inidcation from CCP that they understand the problem. They haven't even acknowledged the problems so how could you expect them to discuss solutions?
I was strongly in favor of a test server to quickly itterate on the vehicle changes outside of the production game, but understood that Sony could be preenting them from doing so. What I did expect was continued attention and monthly itterations on the new vehicle balance mechanism to get it in shape as quickly as possible with as little disruption to the released game.
What I observed was a very broken mechanic right out of the gate and a complete abondoment of the responsibility to fix it. It's been months with no patch, and then the next patch doesn't even attempt to address it. Instead the vehcile imbalance festers in release like an open sore.
My personal opinion is that they can't fix it while they force vehicle and infantry to occupy the same role, and they can't come up with any new roles until they add a lot more to the game. I'm hoping that Fanfest gives us presentations acknowledging the issues and a roadmap for fixing them. If the new EP doesn't do that I won't expect it to ever get fixed. |

Nothing can be done to fix redline tanks. CCP, as I have said before, CCp cannot control the level of bitchassness of players. matter what changes they make based on feed back or new content the levels of bitchassness from this player base continues rise.
I would rather look bad and win, than look good and lose.

Facts? Well obviously if you read the second post you would have realized that since there's no way to test this change that i'm proposing then you can't be given FACTS.
All we can do is propose a change and see if it produces successful results.

I see your point but do realize that it's already been done with forge guns. The specs were changed on FG's to reduce/eliminate red line forge snipers. That change was a successful one. |

Well and idea to fix the redline, you know when you aim something and you get that little info display. How about this if your in the red line and aiming at something if the info display say the target is farther then say 50 to 75meters your shot explodes whilst in the redline. So if you being redline you can still possibly push out but you can't just sit there and peg drops ship and everything else down. This just a basic idea it can be expanded on. Not facts but a good start I guess. |

Look at BF4, there are tanks, alot of tanks and no one complains. The reason why in Dust is broken is because there arent enough swarm lunchers. If ccp can release more swarms from all factions and Make them as a secondary instead of a " Primary " then we can see a difference.

Vehicle caps per type. That way in FW you have tactical teamkilling to ensure scrubtankers are kept in check, and pubs are, well, pubs.

what we need is the maps to be bigger and the spawns to wider and have more of red line spawns . doing this you open up the map so its harder to redline the other team and making it harder when you make the battle zone bigger harder for rail tanks to cover everything from the red line.
the ONLY PLAYERS THAT ARE NOT FOR THIS ARE THE ONES WHO THINK THIS IS BF where your goal is to spawn camp after bum rushing the other teams base spawn.

Have actually been suggesting this for a while. This would "help" with railgun snipers. Forget the redline entirely, its there to prevent absolute murder....Yes we have a leave game button...but really people if they leave, they get nothing from their deaths and what resistance they were able to put against you guys. Redline stays, range goes and the issue will be better.

I really want them to drop the range/dps of large turrets, but allow them to look up... Problem solved and will make battles between dropships and tanks far more interesting, while also removing redlining due to not being able to shoot at anything from there. |
