Was I the only one to notice that the CSM elections are up but the CPM ones aren't?
Also will the candidate sheets for CPM be similar to https://community.eveonline.com/community/csm/apply-for-csm-9 ? |

My hope is that the system will be similar, and the election will be announced soon. I do find it intriguing that EVE has nixed the prequalifier stage on the forums that was previously required. Given that DUST is smaller to begin with, that almost assures that DUST won't have a similar stage either.
I'd like to be your CPM1 candidate

I think it's pretty clear now that the elections for CPM are going to be AFTER Fanfest and not before.
We'd have heard something by now otherwise. My opinion on the matter is that CCP are going to be announcing some fairly radical changes to Dust. CCP Rouge by all accounts is not one to tell the players about anything coming to the game until he knows with certainty that it can be delivered.
It would make sense that given such a number of changes happening to the game, that the elections are held when candidates and the rest of the community are aware of what is coming up and can campaign accordingly.
An extreme example is perhaps a candidate hoping to court the votes of those participating in PC, only to find that PC is being removed from the game. Would they still want to stand?
This is all just speculation on my part of course but given that I'll be landing in Iceland for Fanfest 5 weeks tomorrow and still no word from CCP about elections it seems to be the only logical conclusion.

Kevall, I think that would be a terrible thing to happen. It would put a lot of possible blame on current CPM, which may be a double edged sword by either giving an elected CPM more credibility or trashing the CPM concept all together (I see a lot more hate towards the idea of CPM on the forums lately).
Also it would dissolve any visibility the CPM has in the EVE community, because being on stage at the main event gives people more recognition.
For me a CPM1 candidate has to be a jack of all trades, I'd wish I could choose a specialised CPM but the community isn't in such a state yet (due to the low numbers and amount of FotM chasers. It has taken EVE at least 5 CSM's and 7 years to be in a state doesn't result in religious wars about CSM activities, we don't have so much leeway.
I really hope that CCP Rouge announces world changing things at Fanfest, but at the same time I hope to have a CPM that can adapt and work with him on those changes, otherwise we would end up with CPM0 handling things again (and I have uttermost respect for them, don't get me wrong).
I say let CPM1 handle the storm, maybe some of them will crumble under the pressure, but they have been warned time and time again about that by CPM0. |

I think it would a fairly bad move to not hold the elections prior to FanFest.
Basically, you would want the CSM and CPM elects brought on stage together...sort of a "one team, one mission, two games" sort of thing. It would give a significant amount of credibility to the CPM and help with our cache on the Eve side which we seriously need for long term positive movement for Dust.
If there is no desire to have the election prior to FanFest it would be wise for CCP to come up on the net sooner rather than later. We'll have had some folks in campaign mode for what...little over 3mo's? That is a bit difficult to grasp for essentially a volunteer advisory board for an online game.

What sorcery are you?
j/k
However I have to say to get the elections in now before the fanfest is probably a bad move at this point. As it would give candidates now what? 4 weeks to campaign, primaries, and then the election? less noise the better.

I think you're right on the money Kevall. Imo we should all revel in these last few weeks with this flawed incarnation of DUST, because come the fanfest build she's dead, dead, dead.
And to Rouge: make damn sure you bleed her out, soldier.
I support SP rollover.
