I know this isn't EVE. I am not stating that AV/vehicles are balanced. I understand there is a problem with AV. I understand that you think CCP doesn't listen or know how to balance things. I understand that you may believe that another patch may not come for a year. I know that the game has problems. I am not trying to say anything about balance, timely releases, quality of released content, competence of CCP or players or anything other than the following:
Why buy a PS4 when a PS3 can do this? Just poking at you a little.

It's cheaper probably and less work since they pretty much outsourced dust. This is supposed to be an mmo too. Ambulation, open planets, battles that matter.
But now it's just a lobby shooter lol.

Hmm, i don' I imagine something like
1) Cost of Development License 2) Cost of Distribution License
3) Cost of rebuilding dust on a completely new engine 4) Cost of integrating snowdrop engine into current eve servers
5) time required to rebuild dust on a new engine which developers are used to 6) time required to change how everything is done to suit new system.
Probably all come into it.
Unless your a Computer Scientist don't tell me how Game Mechanics Work.

Cause anybody that was on the forums before Uprising knows these answers.
Unreal Engine 3.5(modified) was the choice because it was cheap. The team at Shanghai wanted to do a western style FPS. We are on PS3 because Sony would allow CCP to sell AURUM and packages on the PSN Store. MS wanted to have everything in their store which would limit the in game market while allowing MS to double dip into profits.
And no, Sony did not pay a nickle into Dust development. They only fund products they are producing or developing.
The CCP/EVE engine was PC specific and considering the vast differences in abilities would probably not be worth porting to the very ancient PS3. PS4 might be fine as both new consoles are basically a low level PC. Just dial back the graphics and ship it.
And so it goes.

Because it wasn't there when Dust was born, it isn't there yet either and frankly nobody knows how it will perform. Also because it seems to be PC/nextgen only? So many arguments... |

Do they even offer licenses for this engine? If not, there's your answer.

Same reason they stopped using Carbon. PS3 melted. CCP melted 3 systems with carbon before they had to switch to Unreal.
