Just a bit of speculation, but apparently we're going to see the "Next evolution of DUST 514" at Fanfest.
Sony has announced an Oculus Rift like VR headset for the PS4, that works with EVE Valkyrie
CCP is clearly fond of VR headsets, because ya know, Valkyrie, and the fact that it works with the PS4 headset seems that they've clearly been looking at the application of this technology.
Of course the one game that would benefit from a VR headset would be the Sony console exclusive FPS game we're all playing right now.
But you know, maybe I'm the only one here who thinks a VR DUST at a 1080 resolution and 60 FPS gameplay would be beyond awesome. |

Won't happen. Palmer from Oculus has stated you shouldn't do shooters on VR. Especially with how movement works in FPS games. Characters move left to right and backwards way too fast in games. Makes you sick. All kinds of sick. And, scouts move too quickly. You need real world movement speeds for it to be comfortable. And the way people strafe on the spot would be weird in VR.
All sorts of issues prevent it. |

My worry with these kind of devices is eye protection. I don't want to end up with horrible vision just for a new experience.

Bad journalism. Sony is just making a VR headset. They said it was compatible with Valkryie. That does not suggest that Valkyrie will come to PS4 or if Dust is getting the headset.
