I've been noticing more and more just how crazy the auto aim on the CR can be at times. I'd consider myself to be a slightly above average FPS gamer, but this gun will give me kills from time to time that I'm not so sure I deserved. Seriously, it felt like the hipfire AA would be killing people I wasn't even totally aiming at.
Unfortunately as I have no means to record my own gameplay with, I didn't want to make a thread with just hearsay and get shot down by people saying I'm "just a QQer," (even though I'm the one using the gun) or "the gun's fine leave it alone."
Luckily, I came across a video recently by moody where he was demonstrating how to use fluxes in conjunction with a combat rifle, and in that video is a prime example of the too high auto aim I'm talking about. Watch the video HERE
At the 4 minute mark, there's an engagement. He fluxes three people, starts hipfiring into a heavy and moves into ADS to finish it off, moves on to a medium frame while still ADS and kills it as well. Then he moves onto the scout and here's where things get a bit off putting. I took a few screens of it to further demonstrate.
Screencap 1 He fires one burst while ADS behind the scout, and doesn't hit.
Screencap 2 He switches to hipfire and immediately refires, you can see how the combat rifle is still being switched over to the side by its angle. The hipfire reticle is to the left of the scout with his arm barely inside the hipfire reticle and you can see the rounds are hitting the ground behind the scout. However, it's marked as a hit and the scout dies in the burst.
Screencap 3 A split second later as the kill is still being registered, (you can still even see the chevron on the red dot scout) he fires again, and you can see how far off the shots really should have been as the scout's still barely moved and the shots are landing in exactly the same spot well behind the scout.
I'm just sayin' guys, maybe you might consider tweaking the AA on the combat rifles hipfire? |

The screens are so blurry I can't see anything so I'll take your word for it.

Hmmm, photobucket downsized them. They should be full 1600x900, I didn't alter them in any way. |

My only complaint is that deafening noise you hear when people use the burst CR with modded controllers- attaining full RoF.
Don't try ti deny it either, as i'm sure you heard it.
It sounds 'almost' like a ACR, but it's less cut off- like the gun has a silencer(acr) while the other one is harsher.
Really pisses me off when i die to those.

AA / What ever the hell that thing is is too powerful on ALL weapons. However I would be interested to know if it is weaker and stronger depending on the gun used?
Either way I say remove AA altogether or at the very least tone it down somewhat.

AA? Perhaps but I have it turned off 24/7 so I wouldn't know. Bullet magnetism? Absolutely. If you don't know what it is, it is when you miss by and inch or two yet you seem to still hit them sometimes even around corners. When this happens on my 2M SP MinLogi character I always feel sick as I didn't earn or deserve the kill, what is the point if it is done for me after all.

I swear if it has been said once it has been said a thousand times "bullet magnetism" as it is falsely named is caused by lag and framerate drops not the fairly mild aim assist that morons think can kill around corners and through walls |

Lag compensation, Dust has it.
Though I am curious as to why the shots fired while in ADS didn't hit when the ones in hip-fire did.
Can someone explain?
