So if all the suits well most of the heavy suits and scout / commando suits are finally coming out And while i agree that is good a half respec is coming , Why not do it same as dropsuit upgrades ,? This. If you are new enough that you desperately need to exchange armor for shield skills then I kind of feel for you. If you've been around for a while then you have enough SP to train up a major chunk of the upgrades tree and likely have a wide variety of fittings for different situations. CCP is in the buisness of selling skill points in the form of boosters and AUR gear (temporary SP boost in a way) and one of the reasons SP holds value is becuase once you spend it on skills you cant get it back. believe it or not the CPM fought hard to get dropsuit command back, because we really shouldnt ever be getting SP back. SP only has value becuase once its spent on skills you cant get it back, and CCP sells SP in a way to take advantage of that value. to give ANY skill points back is in direct conflict with the viability of this games financial model.

I've always been anti-respec for the commitment aspect but tying it to the financial viability of the game is even more important. +1 like for you. yah it takes me a while to work on my arguments before they become fully formed thoughts understandable to other human beings :P basically we only ever get SP back when the CPM can convince CCP that it will cost CCP more money then the projected sales loss of giving SP back would. its a free to play game, and yes they are game developers but theres an entire management and marketing department whos sole job is the sale of SP in order to pay the people actually developing the game. CCP has two halves, the game developers, and the SP salesmen who pay the game developers to make a product we would want to buy SP for. its the SP sales guys that are in charge.
