The reason everybody has started seeing super crazy imbalance in vehicles, is because its been stripped to bare-bones and wont be fixed for at least another patch. the current mods are all prototype with the only factor being time / duration / cool downs. If everything has the same effect with only time limitations, then there's no real difference in performance short term, making spending months of SP seem like a waste of time.
The old mods need to be returned asap. as it used to stand, mods and vehicles only needed a tiny tweak here n there, and people would be okay with how it sat. But because people are gamers and nerd ragers, they took anger out on the forums directly to CCP and they responded. now look at this mess :P
If old mods are returned (NOTHING ELSE CHANGES except mods and maybe pg / cpu to compensate) vehicles will be massively improved. Not perfect, but improved non the less. Tanks need their speed to evade dropship pilots and jihad jeeps, dropships are generally okay as it stands. Maybe longer reload OR reduced clip size to compensate for that immense ROF, and jeeps could use a front turret to be more combat effective :) after all, you can shoot everybody on board out of the vehicle without destroying the jeep, so why not buff its attack power a little.

edit: I Try to take a step back and view how these changes could effect every aspect of the game, trying to take it all into account when deciding major changes to the game.. As far as i can see, reverting mods wont have a major effect on any other aspects of the game. Can anybody else see something ive missed?

Dropships are in an ok state right now, and yes, modules need fixing. My dual damage mod rail Sica can beat most standard tanks in a medium ranged fight, outside of the redline. There isn't much of. A bonus for specking into vehicle modules
Sees prototompers...
Sees blueberries start to snipe...
Pulls out commando suit with laser rifle and swarm launcher...
