I think it would be interesting to see some fits using cloaks on non-scout suits. What roles can you come up with?
Best PvE idea ever!

I am waiting for a cloaked squad of commandos, logi and assaults that main goal is to sneak to the objective and hack and hold it. I am way more interested in unique fits using the cloak than I am for cloaky scouts. Cloaks are going to be a big thread starter and tear jerker. I do think that a cloaky commando is going to be a fit that is used, I may be wrong but it seems like the suit is almost built for it.
Force recon
Force recons sacrifice a bit of the damage bonuses enjoyed by their combat recon brethren in favor of cloaking bonuses, all the while retaining their electronic warfare capabilities. Force recons can use the covert ops cloaking device II in the manner of a covert ops ship and can therefore both warp cloaked and move at full speed on impulse engines. Force recons are therefore used to spring nasty surprises on unsuspecting enemies by suddenly jamming, webbing or otherwise impede on an important ship.

I do think that a cloaky commando is going to be a fit that is used, I may be wrong but it seems like the suit is almost built for it. I wonder if the reduced slot layout on the commandos will make adding PG/CPU mods too difficult to create practical fits. Also, they're going to be slower (and pretty visible when sprinting while cloaked) which makes moving a large group undetected pretty difficult. Not to mention most non-scouts will probably be limited to STD cloaks due to the fitting costs of the ADV & PRO cloaks. As a result, they're only going to have 30 seconds to get where they're going.
I was brainstorming about possible AV fits. I wonder if there was a plasma cannon or swarm fit that could cloak, wait for the tank to roll by and then blap them in their soft spot on the rear? This wouldn't really work until they fix AV, but assuming those weapons were reasonably effective, it might be a viable tactic with a few friends.

I don't agree with the 30 second timer, if it was me a cloak would stay on until turned off or forced off by outside forces but there would be a heavy speed penitently.

I'll be a cloaking Commando. Yes, it is easily possible at the advanced level to use a basic cloak, coupled with two light weapons of choice. Oohhhh the tears.

I think the kicker when I comes to commandos on cloaks is deploying them from a dropship (i.e. standing on the dropship roof and activating). Heavy suits have the ability to tank fall damage particularly well so they do not need to activate an inertia dampener in some cases.

I wonder how effective that will be? Pretty cool idea.

Cloak min logi hacker fit:
4 Shield extenders (probably not complex) 2 complex hack mods 1 complex sprint mod (debating this, could use up too much cpu) 1 complex dampener
basic weapon (possibly a combat rifle or CQC weapon/sidearm) flux grenades (destroying remotes)
cloak remotes? nanohive? (more remotes) scanner?
Basically you run in scanning making sure to avoid all combat, hack quickly, place remotes, scan to find your exit, cloak and run away. If someone counterhacks you activate your remotes. When you think you're safe you deactivate cloak and wait for it to recharge again. You could also run to any nearby installations and hack those too while you're invisible.
Yeah, a minmatar scout could do it better...but I don't want to put skills into a scout suit that I'll barely use. That, and I like the 4 equipment vs just 2, and more slots.
