So, I was under the impression that railguns are anti armor weapons.
Why is it that small railguns have a 77% proficiency against shields, and a 63% proficiency against armor?

The same goes for large rail turrets as well.
I'd put it down to the fact there are very few decent anti shield AV weapons so they had to improvise. They'll probably change it to -10% to shield and +10% to armour once there are laser turrets and more shield based infantry AV weapons.

The OP was aiming at the fact that they don't deal full damage.
Also, rails have always been flipped like this, even when armor tanks were clearly better than shield tanks. Rails have always been bonused against shield as far as I remember.

Actually he is talking about the damage profile being flipped (I know that since he brought it up on IRC before making this thread).
I can't see any reason for them to be like this other than it being a mistake. Rails are hybrid railgun, so they should have a 90/110 damage profile.

It's actually a little bit of both.
Aren't missiles 100% shield / 125% armor or something like that? (going from what shows up when you aim it at stuff) I'm not in game to check.
Why the discrepancy? Is it simply an in game typo?

Missiles (at least the large ones, not sure about small, though they shouldn't be different) have 70% shield / 135% armor
