what about the changes to equipment and weaponry? Most likely we would use half the weapons we skilled into. i know i wouldn't be.

Yeah, it's a load of crap, we really should get an infantry respec. I am however, willing to agree if there isn't a respec for weapons.

In terms of weapons, only the FotM chasers will be the ones that suffer. Someone that uses the Scrambler Rifle because it is Amarrian or the Plasma Rifle because it is Gallentean will not care nor be swayed by changes to these weapons. There are currently three types of people: FotM chasers, loyalists, and those that do whatever is needed. The last of these three will not be nearly as affected as the first, as they will already have a weapon of choice, if not several.
The changes to equipment, on the other hand, affect those that actually used them. By this I mean the logibros. The Repair Tool change is unfortunate, but is expected. With weapons doing less damage, it's absurd for healing tools to do as much as they currently do. The Minmatar logibro will suffer the absolute least when it comes to the Repair Tool. The hive change was to reduce the excessive spam that is currently going on. Less cycles, quicker burnouts. It's heads or tails about Uplinks in my opinion. Is it to reduce mass spawns? Mayhap.
Everyone that has ever touched the CR and RR- hell, we even knew when looking at the stats- that they were going to be cut down. I'm glad all the rifles (outside of the LR) are getting damage reduced. (Though, if you ask me, the Sharpshooter skill needs to go extinct. It causes a massive imbalance of range. The vets that were around when pretty much everything had Sharpshooter knows what I'm talking about.) People that chose to go into them did so at the extremely high risk of it being balanced out.
There is no need for a respec to include weapons and equipment.

@Kasote Sharpshooter doesn't give a flat buff to range like it used to; you can just apply damage at your regular effective ranges better thanks to improved dispersion.
Aside from that, spot on. It is awesomely convenient that Amarr Logi gets the uplink bonus, so not not can I be faction-loyal, I can even chase the FoTM :)

You should be happy you are getting any form of respec at all, in eve if they change something no matter how dramatic the change is, ppl don't get their SP back. |

Rail Rifle, Combat Rifle, Plasma Rifle, Scrambler Rifle, and Submachine Gun are getting damage reductions. From highest reduction to lowest: CR, RR, SCR, AR, SMG.
The speculation about the range of Repair Tools being reduced is to make the pair (the medic and patient) be closer together when the work is done. Right now, we can buzz people from across the way with no problem, making it to where the medic is untouchable while the one being patched up easily able to just stand out in the open. Why, I remember when we used to use three Cores on a single heavy... guy was literally unkillable. (I thought it was hilarious.)

submachine gun nerf? wow i fully specd into that. it doesn't hurt just to give us a weapon respec as well.
