I personally like CCP taking a longer time to work on updates and relase good, balaced, and plentiful material, rather than people whining every month about what CCP did bad, most of the people on the forum don't know how long game developing takes, it's hard work. CCP is actually pretty fast and hard working, game devolping is not as easy as everyone on the forums thinks it is. So do you like the longer gap between updates? (in exchange for more content?)

'Good, balanced material' If only.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

If I recall correctly, the monthly update cycle was just for fixing up the clusterfuck that is Uprising 1.0. It was meant to last for approximately 6 months. We're about done with that process and now we're back to the usual 3 month update cycle.

only if they're giving us new suits, weapons, equipment, AND balancing changes will i accept less-than monthly updates.

I don't really care, but I don't want to wait another year until the next big build comes out. Uprising 2.0 or whatever should be out within 2-3 months. No later.
This game need more vehicles!

Are you being serious?
They hardly add anything in these random length updates... They don't fix balance issues and the game is still riddled with bugs from over a year ago...
As for the question a monthly update would be much better considering how much trial and ERROR goes into their style of balancing... Perhaps even weekly updates. |

I think you underestimate how difficult it is to fix bugs and add content...

There aren't even any vehicle/AV updates this month, as they're still "gathering data".

The monthly update has put a tremendous strain on their resources at this point and has likely exhausted much of their staff trying to put out monthly updates that included new weapons, new maps, including FW, and PC districts. There is also the fact that Sony has to take the time to approve it.
Although monthly updates were great, it's time to go back to the 3-6 month cycle so that CCP can have plenty of time to get more things done.

They ALWAYS gather data. They still do it with Eve Online.

I would not mind updates being 2-3 months aslong as they bring more content. But every 2 weeks or every month we should get a hot fix. There should be a sticky thread where you vote for which set of bugs should be fixed that month.
Well, time to go Commando. Fill the Ranks at 703rd.

I don't like their 'monthly updates' system, for the same reason I was against it when they first proposed it to us. The purpose of monthly releases is to force the DEV teams to release what they have and not get stuck on a cycle of 'Just one more feature' but it fails at that phenomenally. Not only do features get left out because of feature creep (the vehicle overhaul of 1.5/1.6/FINALLY 1.7) and other features get broken because of hurried implementation (Commando being sub-par, Rifles outclassing all other Light Weapons, Swarm Launcher bugs, Vehicle Booster Bugs, Vehicle weight bugs, I can go on), but we STILL don't even get our 'monthly' updates. We don't even get the damn patch notes in a timely or orderly fashion. We have all the negatives of both update methods, and NONE of the positives. And if the DEVs really need a monthly deadline to constrain their feature creep, the ONE, reinforce the damn concept and actually follow through, and TWO, you have pitiful self control.
I much prefer the Valve system. They release updates at key parts of the year (Winter Holidays, Summer Vacation, Halloween, any time their primary market has a lighter workload) and also random updates we have no idea are hitting until Valve decides they can't wait for the next holiday (TF2's 2Cities update, DotA 2's New Bloom Festival, etc). They have had plenty of time to test the features, and let the community test them and give feedback before they potentially poison their game with an overpowered feature/introduce a vestigial underpowered PoS. Plus, they aren't afraid to patch their game. I have to download one, maybe two patches DAILY for TF2, one every other day for DotA 2. This may be abit much for a PS3 game (Valve itself never patches the console versions of TF2 because the console makers wanted to squeeze them for cash), but at least patch this thing on a weekly basis. EVE works on a similar schedule, with a huge update every Fall and a few major updates throughout the year with minor bug fixes in the interim.
Shields as Weapons
Zelda Dynasty Warriors is a real thing.
