Hey Guys,
General Discussion: Will the cloak be OP, UP or does it seem balanced? Has equipment been hit too hard? Have Logi's been over specialised? (Video discussion and summary below)

I think it is a bit of a shame that logistics players have been forced to specialise so much.

Most slots out of any suit, plus scanning buffs, plus a super packed equipment which none can match with other utility equipment options. Its not so bad.

But they haven't...
It's like saying the amarr assault has to only use the scrambler or laser rifle because it has a bonus to it, or that the commandos have to use only weapons they get a bonus to.
They are nerfing certain things about the equipment in order to balance it. The only exception to this is the uplinks, which are getting a bonus from amarr logistics to the point where the only way to have good uplinks is to use amarr logistics...
But either way, the equipment will function practically the same as it does right now. It's not like the repair tool is being nerfed for repair amount (actually with longer TTK it's actually a buff to repair tools), or the nanohives being nerfed in their repair amount...just the ease of use of those equipment.
Minmatar get a longer beam, and it fits them because they're the weakest of the 4 dropsuits, so they can stay behind cover more or whatever. Caldari get more nanites meaning they don't have to drop as many, or drop them as much. Gallente are the e-war guys so being able to see enemies for longer than usual is good, but they have the same cooldown as everyone else. The Amarr logi is where there might be a problem. The most important part of uplinks is the spawn time and the amarr get a direct bonus to that.
I can see where people might be concerned with the amarr bonus and specialization, but not the other bonuses.
But think about it... Equipment spam is a problem, so they nerfed the equipment hp to have them be easier to destroy. Uplinks have longer spawns (harder for the enemy team to just spawn back on the uplinks right after they die.) and Nanohives are used up quicker.
360 scanning was a problem so they changed the scanner mechanic and increased the scanner cooldown to prevent constant scans (while buffing the proximity scanner to give that specific variant a reason to be used).
TTK is getting increased so they nerfed the core focused. I honestly don't know why they nerfed the range though...

Are you still going to use a scrambler rifle with 3 damage mods on your Amarr assault ak0? Are you going to change how you fit your amarr assault suits? Is you Amarr assault dropsuit fitting video still valid for 1.8? I am curious. |

Don't the stacking penalties still apply? I did see some people on the forum posting about how complex shield extenders could now be considered superior to complex damage modifiers with the incoming nerf to damage modules. |

In 1.8 I am going to test multiple fits to see the impact of different modules. Once I've found what suits my play style I will be posting fitting videos for the Amarr Sentinel, Commando, Assault, Logi & Scout (all at proto level). There will also be vids showing me using each fit

In 1.8 I will only be using an amarr assault suit with a scrambler rifle. |

If you played Killzone 2,3, or even shadowfall we could see what potential role the cloak could be. I hope Dust mercs dont abuse it.
If you run proto gear, prepare to suffer the consequences. You've been warned.
