As equipment.
Goto your equipment pull out and select the drone, drone then deploys and follows the player like a utility pet.
-Player loses stealth and gets an increase on Signature Radius -Drone utility varies on race and role of drone, should be non-combat in nature but instead helping the player perform combat such as a vehicle radar, ammo scavenger, and explosive interceptor. -Drone has HP -Drone is equipment and can be killed by Flux and EMP effects. -Drones can be undeployed back into the 'pack' -Does not restock from hives or supply depot aura -Does restrock from restocking from supply depot.
As Projectiles
-A lobbed projectile device with long range arc. -Upon impact may explode if it hit a target and does extra damage (no power used up to find targets) -If no target is hit, it seeks the nearest target to hit (thus becomes a single target aoe type device instead of crowd hit) -Much weaker effect if it has to seek -Persists shortly after landing behaving like a mine, limitation tied to number of shots out and weapons and time. -Wider AoE seek effect -Weaker damage than most other explosives due to its homing ability. -Seeking is based on suit sensor strength vs suit sig radius, if the suit is cloaked and scouty the drones will not seek them out. -Turret versions behave like a catapult lobbing a spread of drones over an area.
As OMS -Type 1 Self deploying mine field, the drone hive spews out a new suicide drone over its local area, typically found near choke points, Hives are either anti-infantry or anti vehicle. Drones persists after the hive is destroyed. There is a 90* blind spot the hive does not seed mines in.
-Type 2 Walker builder. The hive constructs a drone that behaves as an anti infantry turret on AI mode. Once commandeered by players the walker can then move off the base of the hive controlling the drone away from hive and dismounting it placing it as an anti infantry turret where desire. Relatively weak for a vehicle, exposed pilot, cannot withstand av fire. Both walker and hive can be hacked separately; hive will have limit to how many walkers it can deploy. Hive automatically builds a new walker if the previous one is removed from the base, is destroyed on the base. Flipping control only prevents new ones being built for the other team and until limit is not maxed will not build replacements for the new team owner.
As 'Offmap' support
-Traditional UAV types with sweeps and scans -EWAR deploying UAV types - All can be shot down.

iv always wanted a scouter drone, it scans a bigger area then the normal scanner but can be shot down and has a longer cooldown.

i would rather 64 player counts then each Mercenary having the potential to have an individual minion taking up game performance. |

I'd like some sort of of drone orbital option, you can choose an area from the orbital screen and they drop from space and patrol that area for a time.

I've always seen drones in Dust as the Gal heavy AV weapon. User deploys two fast moving plasma cannon drones from a back pack which have a 10 second window, due to limited onboard power, to tear into whichever target the user has their laser painting. I'm living in hope |
