As per my original thread on CPM and Candidate reactions to the Weapons & TTK Dev blog I'm now opening up the disucsion thread to address the Dev blog covering Dropsuits, Roles, and Respec.
By and large this is a major (albeit late) milestone for Dust: Racial parity for all dropsuit classes and roles paired with a nearly complete line of racial weaponry. This coupled with the Rubicon 1.3 patch that addresses some of the concerns with Planetary Conquest and Faction Warfare seems to be creating a cautiously optimistic buzz in the community. There will always be a some areas in additions such as 1.8 that don't hit the mark or leave some unsatisfied and that's to be expected. It doesn't discount those points of view but as often said "you can't please everyone, everytime".
So...Some questions to the CPM and CPM1 candidates.
1) General impressions of the dropsuit adds and role modifications? What emergent tactics or playstyles might be coming up? How will the roles and suits change team play tactics and organization?
2) Do the suit and role changes effect different player populations in different ways? Example - how does the PC player vs the Casual player get impacted or where can the biggest advantages be found?
3) It seems that there was quite a bit discussion in the community monitored by CCP about the Racial Assault bonuses for the Cal and Gal suits but ultimately nothing changed - What was the CPM's take on the discussion and interaction with CCP on this issue?
4) What small items stand out as needing to be relooked? Example: the lower CPU level of the Cal Logi compared to other Logis.
5) What is the impact of the Dropsuit Command Respec on the community? Are you satisfied with the solution?
Just a discussion starter for the group and I look forward to reading your thoughts on this.

Well said, Kevall.
In reference to respecs, I tend to agree with you that core upgrades are always useful no matter the suit you wear and over time weapon SP is usually worth it. The few occasions that it's not and a weapon or piece of equipment consistently shows itself underutilized or underpowered that is a spot where the CPM can be a positive voice for the community to the Dev team.
One interesting thing to note is that at they have taken a safely charted path for when the Amarr and Minmatar vehicles drop...they can respec ONLY vehicle command and that really is that last respec that should be offered...everything after that is new content.
I see all the heavies starting to stare evil eyes at me! . I also think that at CCP should have a targeted special event to allow you to accrue a bag full of bonus SP to help you skill into the Gallente and Amarr heavy weapon when they are introduced...kinda like they did for 1.7 and 1.8.

Jaysyn: 1 mil this weekend. 1.5 mil with an Active Booster, or 2 mil with an Active-Omega Booster. They're offering a bag full of bonus SP this weekend to help you skill into the new stuff. ;)
I'd like to be your CPM1 candidate

As CCP would say..."Working as intended."
I actually have pretty fair amount of SP banked in case I wanted into any of the sporty new Caldari gear already - the ubiquitous bag of SP lets me get a few nice to have pieces of kit as well.
Soraya, thoughts on finally getting dropsuit parity and how the new suits will fare?

Dropsuit parity hasn't been a big thing for me, but I'm glad it's here. For one, CCP can now start actually using the races' specific specialties in design and balance, as opposed to having to have generalist suits that had to fill the role for all players. And while I know the players existed, I've been surprised just how many players are devoutly dedicated to a faction, and intends only to use gear from that faction. While that's a hard notion to foster with the current weakness of how DUST conveys the lore of EVE, anything that supports that is great.
In regards to balance, my hope is their particular advantages with specific weapons will ensure we get a good mix of dropsuits after the patch, and while (except for AV), I'm mostly happy with the balance changes, I'm sure a new fit of the month will rise shortly after the patch releases.

I would just to say as well that the last two Dev blogs as well as what the CPM0 are saying have made me very excited about the surprises that CCP Rouge May spring on us at Fanfest.

Very happy with the new dropsuits, it's been a long time coming. I don't think too many new tactics will emerge, people will of course fit their suits to their bonuses (I hope).
2) Do the suit and role changes effect different player populations in different ways? Example - how does the PC player vs the Casual player get impacted or where can the biggest advantages be found?
PC may change, but it will be time before people can spec into other suits and max them out to where they are "PC READY". Assuming the suits trickle into FW, new players may be able to get new faction suits so that's an added bonus. For the casual player I don't think it'll really effect them to much. It may level out the playing field while veterans debate if they want to skill into a new suit.
3) It seems that there was quite a bit discussion in the community monitored by CCP about the Racial Assault bonuses for the Cal and Gal suits but ultimately nothing changed - What was the CPM's take on the discussion and interaction with CCP on this issue?
I'm not part of that interaction sadly.
4) What small items stand out as needing to be relooked? Example: the lower CPU level of the Cal Logi compared to other Logis.
The types of logi's are meant for different roles, for example in a match, an Amarr Logi is best for dropping Drop Uplinks all around the map. A Caldari Logi will be your ammo guy and give nanite repair, Gallente logi will be the best scout with the "fixing" of active scanners, (which really help when calling in orbitals), and Minmatar Logi will be the best repper (I personally run it with armor repping nano hives and a repair tool)
5) What is the impact of the Dropsuit Command Respec on the community? Are you satisfied with the solution? I am, players are given 3 characters, technically players are given as x3 as they have accounts on their PS3, this gives players a lot of opportunity to skill into a lot of different things, those who didn't take advantage of that from the get go, it's gotta suck, but I have 6 characters I use. I skill them up, I give them passive boosters, so I can pretty much skill into what ever I want and get a good idea what I want to do on my main.
