I am sure everyone knows about the changes to Weapon Proficiency (WP); it only gives the 3% bonus per level to either shields or armor depending on the natural affinity of the weapon.
Rails: Armor
Blaster: Shield
Laser: Shield
Explosives: Armor
This means that for the same weapon you had before against a target with 450/450 HP, the skill is now basically worth half of what it used to be. The armor WP's are likely to be the best as armor naturally gives about double the HP of shields so Lasers and Rails kill shields at close to the same time but Lasers have intense difficulties against armor.
Assuming this is true, how much is WP worth now? It is a 5X skill, meaning it requires 1,556,600 SP to reach level 5, as well as needing the relevant weapon skill to 5. If 15% additional omni-damage was worth 1.56 million SP, how much is 15% shield or armor damage worth?
This is just to get people's thoughts rather than a pitchfork and torches thing. |

It's worth the same to me, I've got an obligation to kill those caldari sentinels, commandos and scouts with my scrambler rifle.
Sees prototompers...
Sees blueberries start to snipe...
Pulls out commando suit with laser rifle and swarm launcher...

It's worth considering on projectile weapons, possibly. Hybrids maybe too. Lasers and explosives, definitely not worth bothering with.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Simple. Prof V in scr take out shields. Pull out prof V magsec or bolt pistol and go to town on that ass

I'm glad the WP and dmg mods are getting the nerf hammer. Going to be fun watching those people who relied on 3 dmg mods try to keep their kd/r up.

I think its worth a 3X or 4X skill now, but I doubt that change will be forth coming. I would honestly just be happy is prof. was no longer a prerequisite for fitting optimization
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.
