I completely understand that we all want these things but it takes time, alot of time, effort, and patent.
We want the 2.0 marketplace, PC, skirmish, 48 player battles, Player trading, Drones, Racial Tanks, Dropships, Lav, AAA Gun, transport HAV, Star fighters ect... Some people might say that all this will not happen but it will happen. Dust has changed so much since Private beta to Now 2014 also the Heavy Artillery that fires back at EVE ships.
In my experience Dust is one of those very few shooters who have a different feeling, atmosphere, controls, to the way it plays, looks, sounds, ect... I don't want Dust to have controls like Battlefield, Cod, or Killzone. I want Dust to the way it is ment to be. Others may not like it others will. The thing that reminds me of Dust and is its kinda of similar to Starwars Battlefront 1 and 2.
During the battle I love it when our squad gets the OB ( Orbital Strike) and in a few seconds the player in EVE fires and BAM the lasers arrive and tear up the surface and this is something that makes Dust awesome. We mercs aren't part of a battle, we are part of a Huge WAR in One Universe.
Now that Battlefield 4 and cod were released last year I think that Modern shooters are just boring. When I look at Dust it looks new, refreshing, and something that no one thought of and of course the game doesn't have alot of maps but CCP will continue to add more maps, camos for weapons, ect... Who doesn't like Sci-Fi
Sci-Fi shooters >>>> Boring modern wannabe realistic shooters = yawn.
In the end I just want all of you to know that Dust is almost 1 year old since its release date so don't lose hope because this game has a bright future. I myself am a MAG veteran and for 3 years of playing MAG, in the end I'm satisfied. 11 vets, 1000+ hours, played all 3 factions, and my favorite faction is Raven.
Just when MAG came out it didn't have alot of things and in the end It had everything. Domination 256 players = AWESOME.
Any MAG vets here ?
Here are some links to some of the things that hopefully arrive but in the near future.
keep your hopes high but not to high. I know CCP can do this and when we have all these things to Dust 514, it will be mindblowing like in other words shocking :O

Here is my question, when you log in to Dust 514 and play, What are you fighting for ? Do you play for Fun, competition, or both ?

For fun, but right now fun is gone for me and i will be on passive in my flat.
Just waiting if some other game will not be better and if the will.
I gladly pay for them and leave dust, zou can sent me message if you will want some mils in ISK.
But i prpablu put some in corp too.

The problem is, it's been two years and they're still promising the same crap. In the meantime, they've delivered very little of what they've promoted.
Also, Dust isn't very unique at the moment - that needs to be fixed ASAP, because right now the game is pretty dull due to CCP basically remaking the modern shooters that you decry.
