The thing is, without the weapon respec, I'm level 3 scrambler pistol and level 2 ammo capacity. I always regretted doing that cause I was a logi and didn't need it.
I'm thinking the Ion Pistol will be better if I don't feel like switching back to HMG to take out armor.
But the Scrambler will have more range which is what the HMG lacks along with more shield damage.
I've only invested 200,000 SP into the scrambler pistol. What do you guys think?

If your looking for range, the caldari bolt pistol is the way to go.
Sees prototompers...
Sees blueberries start to snipe...
Pulls out commando suit with laser rifle and swarm launcher...

Scrambler pistol is best pistol, especially with headshot damage. It also has some nice range. Get your operations up to level 5 ASAP so you can get 11 shots before reloading.

What's the operations skill for the Ion?
Because that clip size increase for the ScP makes a massive difference, and the ROF increase on the protos is glorious.
Then there's charge shot vs head shot to consider.
All in all, I'd say that if you run proto more often than standard, then the ScP is the way to go. Otherwise Ion.

I wouldn't invest in any new skills at this point. CCP is wanting us to try new **** so they can change it and have us grind for more ****. Get all of your core skills to V, dropsuit of choice to V, then just wait until CCP has released every weapon and dropsuit.
That way they can't **** you over like they have for hundreds of other mercs.

Scram pistol is going to be better than the ion pistol in 90% of all situations.
