So like some of you may (or not) know me from the past well heres the issue
My PS3 doesn't want to start. It stays on a Green Light but doesn't show any display of start-up or error codes just a solid green light. I tried doing the debug option (holding power till 2 beeps) and there is no display either. My DS3 doesn't try to connect to the PS3 either even with the wire connected on the PS3.
Each time I try to power it down I have to hold it for about 10s and it doesn't go through the cycle of shutdown it just cuts off. I tried taking out the HDD to see if it would give me an error message about it not starting up with storage to no avail. I tried opening it up cleaning up any dust see if thermal paste was an issue and the thermal paste was still sufficiently still there. I've tried different cords like alternate HDMI, composite RGB cables, and the other ones (The green, blue, and red ones) with the same issue. Tried other screens but to come up with the same occurrence as before.
I've come to the assumption that it has finally died. Any opinions or possible fixes? |

Underneat the system, here is a plastic cover(about flash key sized) Open that, and unscrew the (i think) blue screw. Slide open the hatch and remove the Hard Disk, plug everything in and boot it up. When it ultimately turns off, plug the HDD back in, reseal the cover, and play like normal.

So you want me to leave my PS3 on for it to turn off by itself? Because it doesn't turn off by itself. It stays on that Green light with no display for a very long time. |
