I'm not asking for any promises and will fully understand if it doesn't happen, but is there even a remote possibility that the player market/p2p trading might be coming in 1.9?

I doubt there will be another update after 1.8. Only another major expansion we have to wait until may for.

For all we know its in 1.8. Lets wait until we have patch notes for what drops in a couple weeks before we worry about what is next.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

It probably went to Sony at least a few days ago if they are sure enough to announce deployment on the 25th
