So, there I was fighting the painful battle for God and Empire (Amarr) against the infidels, swamped against 5 immortal tanks in the redline, doing my best as the only person on the team using AV (a militia forge gun)/one of the few people who hadn't quit or were hiding, it's getting towards the end of the match, I've died several times at this point doing the thankless work or harassing the enemy motor pool, but I'm still hanging in there. So I charge up the gun, aim it at a tank, cursor is red, I let it fly and...
The shot hasn't even reached the tank as far as I can tell before I'm suddenly kicked from the match, accused of 'sustained friendly fire', stripped of 450 LP, and denied the >1000 WP I'd earned (quite a feat for solo work in Amarr factional these days) then blocked from combat for the next 24 hours.
Here's the thing, I didn't shoot anyone on my team once (I hadn't even so much as seen anyone in a while at that point), much less with sustained fire (how that is even possible with a forge gun I don't know). I'm basically certain that the tank was definitely an enemy (it had been shooting IN MY GENERAL DIRECTION, no one on my team had called anything in in a long while to boot), and especially in Factional I'm cautious not to waste a shot on a friendly tank (1 second verification is better than 8 seconds of recharge/reloading).
So it's putting me off.
The only thing that I can think of that was odd was that my team was displayed on the right hand side of the battle roster (I had double checked because I don't believe in fighting for the Minitour if I can at all help it), and that somehow this might have been an indicator or something happening in the background of things but otherwise I'm completely puzzled about the whole thing and a little miffed. |

I was queued for the same battle on the same district 3 times and it would put me in team but never deploy me and then just kick me from deployment. Happened to everybody

Friendly vehicles that are hacked remain friendly assets, and thus count towards the friendly fire damage cap. This is a known issue and as of yet has not been fixed. Though it certainly needs to be, as it makes attacking vehicles an even riskier proposition.

That could have been it right there then... And that's an obnoxious bug that seems like it shouldn't be that difficult to fix, I'll cross my fingers for 1.8. |
