This scanner is ridiculous. I always knew that it was but today was the first time that it was used against me. So in order to avoid it you need level 5 scout, level 5 profile dampening and four complex profile dampeners. I always thought you just needed to have two complex profile dampeners so that the minmatar scout could avoid it but no, you need four. The minmatar scout cannot avoid the duvolle focused scanner. This thing is the bane of my existence and I hate it.
Duvolle Focused Scanner - Scan Precision - 15dB
Have to get scan profile below 15dB
Scout Scan Profile - 45 dB
Scout Level 5 - 25% Reduction - 45dB * 0.75 = 33.75dB
Profile Dampening Level 5 - 10% Reduction - 33.75dB * 0.9 = 30.375dB
First Complex Profile Dampener - 25% reduction - 30.375 * 0.75 = 22.78125dB
Stacking Penalty 80% - I think the decrease in efficacy is very close to 20%
Second Complex Profile Dampener - 25% * 0.8 = 20% Reduction - 22.78125dB * 0.8 = 18.225dB
Third Complex Profile Dampener - 20% * 0.8 = 16% Reduction - 18.225dB * 0.84 = 15.309dB
Fourth Complex Profile Dampener - 16% * 0.8 = 12.8 Reduction - 15.309dB * 0.872 = 13.349448dB
The gallente scout is the only suit that can avoid this scanner and it has to sacrifice all its low slots to profile dampeners. The math might not be correct but all I know is that with three profile dampeners I was still getting scanned. |

Late to the game, fortunately scanners are getting nerfed in 1.8, in fact it will be easy to avoid even if you can't beat it directly, the scanner nerf will make it very impractical.

Scouts get a lower profile in 1.8 supposedly.

I remember I was in a scout squad with some peeps from United and when we started doing well, they pulled it out. I was flabbergasted, but didn't mind much. Only one dude had it so we just avoided him.
Anyways, relax. These things are getting a nerf for the most part and if you still get scanned, that means the other dude earned it with his Gallente Logistics. It's the only skill they're getting! |

nobody uses that scanner because first off the cooldown time is way too long. And on top of that the hostiles are not really long tagged compared to the quantum scanner.
