Just because something has a different monetization method doesn't shield it from criticism. People always state it like it is so. "The game is free; stop complaining." This is almost always used in regards to League of Legends, despite several million dollar tournaments and being the most played 'MMO' in the world. If being a Free Game means that people should not complain when there is a problem, does that mean that someone's opinions/suggestions are worth more if they spent money on the game? Why is it okay to complain about a game that makes money off of a single purchase (Diablo 3) or subscription based (WoW) but not okay about a game that makes money off of optional payments? Just because it costs you nothing doesn't mean that you cannot complain or be invested in it. Would you say "lawl, why are you upset with the Lost ending when it was free?" Regardless of price, people get invested in something.

I understand the frustration people have, I just don't agree that shitting all over CCP at every turn is beneficial in any way or form. I've interviewed my fair share of devs and spoke to many at FF last year and these guys want to make the best game possible yet people here ** all over them on a daily basis as if they didn't want to make the best game possible and were being lazy and half assed. But as I said, I get the bitterness...better communication has to be formed and I hope that the next CPM can work with CCP in creating a more productive feedback loop where the community's number crunching and analysis can be given to the right people for consideration and again more feedback given by the devs regarding if and why that feedback is/isn't used. This is where I agree that the bitterness could have been minimised but we're only just at the beginning of this journey and reports from those who know are painting a sunnier picture so maybe the general atmosphere within the community will improve. Their are things you can do in this game that set you apart from the rest of the players, like fly a dropship, use nova knives, and stuff. You know, those things few people do, that aren't FOTM but people do it anyways because thats the way they enjoy playing the game. That's what makes it cool. Sees prototompers... Sees blueberries start to snipe... Pulls out commando suit with laser rifle and swarm launcher...
