I have been wanting to chose one suit to focus on and level up to 5. I have narrowed down my choices to the Caldari and the Gallente assault suits. I was using the gallente suit up till recently when I started using the assault c-I. I like its regenerative abilities more but ultimately won't it have lower ehp even with complex shield extenders? What do you think why do you use it? |

I don't use it, but I'd say go for the Gallente suit if you like to rush in and do a lot of damage, and go for the Caldari suit if you like to kind if hit-and-run people from far away.
It's all personal preference.
I think I'm a forum warrior level 6 :D

I started this game as a Cal Assault. I've since moved to Logi because it simply does the job of slaying better.
That said, shield tanking lends itself to longer range engagements rather than CQC, so that's the way I try and use it. Sometimes that works better than others.
How will that change in 1.8? I have no idea, so therefore I will take a wait and see attitude towards the suit and its role. |

Here's how I run mine:
Boundless Combat Rifle TT-3 Assault Scrambler Pistol Core Locus Grenade
Complex Shield Extender Complex Shield Extender Complex Shield Extender Complex Shield Recharger
Complex Shield Regulator Complex Shield Regulator Complex CPU Upgrade
Ishukone Flux Nanohive
It takes three seconds for your regen to kick in if you don't allow your shields to completely dry up - if you're careful to disengage for a few seconds every time your shields get low, you can keep going remarkably well. The key is not to let your shields deplete fully - as long as some of your shields remain the regen is incredibly good.
You can be pretty relentless using it. The things to avoid are SCRs though, as they'll shred your shield-based buffer very quickly. The CR gives you enough damage output to kill pretty much anything in CQC though, especially as unencumbered bunny hops in CQC are quite good.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

I think its easier to strafe with shields than armor. I don't want to lose my speed. Caldari assault it is. |

If reactives and ferroscales are fixed while also moving dampener to highs AND making the AR highs DPS I would suggest the Gallente. Very powerful CQC brawler who you never saw coming.

I'd wait till after 1.8 to choose.
I use the Gallente Assault, and it works well but right now it's overshadowed by the Caldari assault.
Most because people run a CalAssault with 3 dmg mods, a energizer/extender and 3 enhanced/basic armour plates.
You can get a lot of shield buffer and a good deal of overall ehp. You can run the Gallente assault the same way, but it only has 3 highs, so you have to choose between dmg mods or shield buffer(150 is just not enough) and for the lows, your gonna need 1-2 reps to even think about engaging another enemy, so that only leaves you with 2 lows for armour which you can usually get up to around 477-504 with ease.
So the cal assault gets:
320 some odd shields and 420-510 armour and a ton of dmg output.
And the GalAssault gets:
150-220 shields(one complex) and 504 armour at 10 armour reps a second and a decent- good dmg output.
Or
300 shields(roughly) and 504-650 armour and 6.25 reps a second and no dmg boost.
So right now, use Caldari. After 1.8? Who knows?

Scrambler rifles and rail rifles really complement the shield playstyle
Sees prototompers...
Sees blueberries start to snipe...
Pulls out commando suit with laser rifle and swarm launcher...

Armor is meta, shields are lacking due to regulators being bunk. Though I use my caldari suit with pride! It's faster and looks cooler |

Cal assault unless you're not good at strafing..then assaults aren't the suits for you. If you strafe then assault caldari If you don't then logi, both logis are good.

Armor by itself or shields by itself usually results in a dead player.
With that being said, I'll never dual tank.
My pride is too strong.

Personally, I love the Caldari assaut suit I have 2 types of suit: Tank :
Duvolle AR Toxin SMG M1 Locus Grenade Complex shield extender Complex shield extender Complex shield extender Complex light weapon damager Basic armor plate Basic armor plate Basic armor reparer Ishukone Gauged nanohive
This is for the battles in smalls halls, and for 1.8, this is a very polyvalent suit
And a fit "Caldari" :
SL-4 Assaut Rail Rifle Toxin SMG Flux grenade Complex shield extender Complex shield extender Complex shield extender Complex light weapon damager Advanced (I've forgotten the real word ^^) Cardiac regulator Complex profil dampener Basic reactive plate Nanohive
But I don't often use this second suit beacause the TTK is so bad.... |

If you run caldari suits and have any form of shield tank on it, be sure to put a shield regulator or 2 in the low slots. they reduce the amount of time it takes for your shields to start regenerating, and with the shield extenders now increasing that time it has been a manditory module for me
If you only see from your point of view, you are doing it wrong.
