PSN IDs are freely searchable for any player. Passwords are not being disclosed.

Okay, fair enough, but I have never seen CCP enforce that for PSN IDs. Character names fully stand though. Forum browsers can simply use the name directory to search PSN IDs on their own.

How could knowing somebody's PSN ID possibly equate to credit card theft? God, you are some kind of special aren't you?
Edit: Here's my PSN ID, TheUnholy-666- (I was an angsty, anti-religious teenager when I made it). Please somebody show me what kind of damage they can do now that you know my PSN ID. Other than spamming me with messages(which I could then block you) I don't see what's the big deal.

Considering Facebook simply states: "We ask that you refrain from publishing the personal information of others without their consent" rather than "it is illegal to publish people's personal information", I am not entirely sure if it is illegal.
If someone were after someone's actual account, I doubt they would say "post your information" and would instead go "hmmm, that YouTuber sure has a lot of ISK and SP. I guess I could watch any one of their videos and see that their character's name is (that), do a search for (that) in DUST, and readily see their PSN... Nahh, I guess I better just see if I can get them to post the PSN name."
Also, if someone logs on with your account and you have your credit card information saved, it will ask them for the credit card numbers. If they don't have it, it deletes the records. Has happened to me several times when I would log on my friend's PS3. |
